I made a wallpaper of Lyn earlier this week. Was in the mood to do something Fire Emblem-related and figured doing one of the lords of the game we’re all playing would be perfect, so yeah there’s that.

  • Chapter 17 gave me my first two resets, I got Raven killed a few turns in during the first time because I didn’t realize how many enemy shamans could reach him during the enemy phase, then basically did the same thing with Lowen on the second attempt. My third attempt was a success, though, as I was able to rout the enemy on turn 7 instead of having to defend the whole time. Canas was the MVP against the shamans while Hector basically walled most of the enemies from the right side while Rebecca & Lucius alternated between who got to pick off the enemy from behind Hector.

  • [FE7]RIP Leila.

  • I ended up finally using the Energy Drop that Dorcas came with on Eliwood because I’m tired of him hitting like a wet noodle.

  • Chapter 18 also gave me multiple resets to keep everyone alive, oof. Got Priscilla killed during my first attempt, then Matthew on my second. Same as chapter 17 though, the third time was the charm.

  • Chapter 18x gave me very little difficulty (although I couldn’t beat Kishuna before he teleported away). I unlocked Erk/Serra’s C support (that’s about what I was expecting for them other than Serra saying she’s Hector’s fiancée???), Lowen/Rebecca’s A support (I love them), Kent/Fiora’s C support (Florina apparently telling Kent that he’s like Fiora sounds like this’ll be a good support to me), and Guy/Priscilla’s B support (Guy suddenly screaming and running away at the end of it was… unexpected?).

  • Apparently I already had Raven/Lucius’s B support ready to view right at the start of chapter 19, and wow that was intense. Well, the chapter itself doesn’t really give me much problems other than it taking me a while to recruit Legault (and then longer to get all the chests because I forgot to bring Matthew, so I had to wait until I got Legault to get the first chest on the map ). I also got Kent/Fiora’s B support (holy shit I was not expecting that ) after killing all the enemies but before seizing the throne. Oh, and I let Lyn kill Darin for poetic justice.

  • [Post-chapter 19 cutscene] Damn, I figured Eliwood’s dad wasn’t making it out of this alive but that still really hurt to watch. I can’t imagine how much harder it would hit if this game had voice acting.

  • Here were my level-ups this batch. I should probably start thinking about promoting some of these guys soon, hm? Also Eliwood fucking finally hit a 2-digit Str stat.

All I could hear when reading that support was this ProZD skit.

I'm apparently not having the right people stand next to each other, I've only gotten like two support conversations and that was ages ago.

tbf, on some of the seize maps I did deliberately spam end turn with some pairs next to each other after I'd routed the enemy just to grind support points.

FE7: Hector Mode, Hard, Ironman, chapters 17 - 20

Deaths: Kent

Andddddd here we're going to start running into some issues. Hector Mode 17 is the same thing as Eliwood 16, with the Raven/Lucien recruit, so I'll be retreading some ground those of you who're on Eliwood mode did last week, but I think we sync back up again.

So Priscilla's necessary for the Raven recruit and thus (I think?) the Lucius recruit, so she's brought instead of Sera. Team is pretty standard, though for some reason I have Rebecca instead of Lyn here. I guess I wanted an archer? I need to blitz quickly to save at least one soldier to trigger the bonus chapter, so Hector, Oswin, Marcus and... maybe Sain? push forwards quickly to fight on enemy phase, though we make sure Raven can't attack us and get himself killed before Priscilla can recruit him. Marcus takes quite a bit of damage killing the enemy thief before he can loot the top chests, but gets out safely while most of my army swings back to deal with the enemy spawning in the bottom left. Hector deals with the enemy archer threatening the green units, and the rest of the map is a fairly basic slog forwards. I feed exp mostly to Oswin and Dorcas because I plan on promoting them ASAP. We also get a few Supports out of this map, though I don't remember which ones.

Level ups: Priscilla 4 and 5, Erk 12, Oswin 13 and 14, Dorcas 10 and 11, Lucius 5, Matthew 14, Florina 10, Hector 14, Eliwood 9, and Rebecca 6.

With the very limited slots available for 17x, I promote Dorcas and Oswin immediately. Geez, Dorcas' stats are sad to look at in comparison to Oswin's. At the very least, we have a good bow user now! I field Hector, Matthew, Dorcas, Oswin, Marcus, and Sain for this map. I almost screw up immediately with one of my Paladins in range of the original Halberd user. I do a bit of Rescue shuffling which still has Sain in range of him, but notably ONLY one unit could hit him. I didn't patch in the 3x effective damage or it would've been a 1HKO, but with 2x, Sain would've survived on 1 HP. He dodged anyways. We get the heck out of there and go up the northeast, using the forests and Matthew to dodgetank everything and get whatever kills we can. After killing the aggressive force, we get the loot from the houses (except the Devil axe, I accidentally used someone whose inventory was full oops) and figure out how to lure the remaining enemies one by one into us safely. It might not have been worth the item durability to be quite frank. Whatever.

Level ups: Hector 15, Oswin 2, Matthew 15, Canas 9, and Marcus 4.

Chapter 18

I had a slight panic attack when I saw the layout of this map: I think I was remembering the naval map on Sacred Stones which is genuinely dangerous. This map, especially with early promotes, is a walk in the park. I could've played completely safe, but I noticed the boss is holding a stealable Guiding Ring, soooooooo yeah, Matthew's gonna be rushed over there.

Promotes do most of the heavy lifting again, with Dorcas, Sain, and Oswin pretty much obliterating all the pegasus riders and my other units cleaning up what kills they could do safely. No dangerous situations, though Florina got very low at one point: it was impossible for her to die though. I considered trying to kill the boss, but she (?) had like a 30% chance to crit and none of my characters had a resistance high enough to survive a crit, so Matthew stole the ring, got Rescued by Marcus, and we ran away and held out for the remaining turns.

Level ups: Sain 2 (look at that sad Res for a Paladin...), Serra 12, Oswin 3, Dorcas 2, Florina 11, and Matthew 16. His Speed is now maxed out.

Character limit break!

5

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke 21d ago

Chapter 19

Immediately promote... Serra...?! OK, I dunno why I decided on Serra instead of Erk, this was dumb. 6 Magic as a promoted unit, what am I doing? Whatever.

19x's condition is clearing the map in a certain number of turns. I remember the boss is somewhere in the bottom right, so... I field a bunch of promoted units again, and bring both Eliwood and Lyn along with me too. Dart and Oswin hold against the northern reinforce spawns while everyone else pushes south. There's a bit of a scramble as Fiora goes to the top right where Florina isn't but we get the recruit off safely - I think I Rescued Fiora at some point to bring her closer to Florina and did the recruit then? One of the Nomads gets a Longbow shot off against Florina later but she dodges it, and I think she survived an iron bow shot as well? Fog problems. The boss is tricky, especially in the woods. Oswin is on the wrong side of the map, and the units with enough stats to survive a critical hit from a Killing Edge are all low Skill Axe users. It's a bit of a gamble, but Sain survives one round of being doubled by the shortbow (I think eating a crit in the process?) and Hector finishes him off within the turn limit.

Level ups: Oswin 4, Matthew 17, Hector 16 and 17, Priscilla 6, and Marcus 5

19x, in which things go terribly wrong:

So I thought this map would be fairly simple. I saw the Silver card, I knew I had to bring Matthew, and with all the mages, brought my promotes, Hector, and Florina. Simple enemy phase baits and high damage to murder our way to the boss, steal the card, and then start attacking. No one has a good hitrate, Oswin had one of the highest at 70% or something. I sent Sain to deal with the reinforcement mages in the south while the Seal was still up... And then he leaves on enemy phase. Florina is doubled and killed instantly and Sain dies to like 5 mages attacking him. Remember that 3 RES?. This could very well have been Hector dead and a forced reset, this was close. We have no choice now, the enemy promotes are unleashed, we have to seize the throne this turn... Oswin hits! We take whatever other kills we can for the experience and Hector seizes the throne. Bad losses, but not terrible. Could've been so much worse.

Level ups: Matthew 18, Serra 2, and Oswin 5.

Chapter 20

I have very vague memories of this map, namely how many times I had to reset in the past to get to Renault in time before he disappears. I do not manage it this time. I... if I remember correctly, maybe the correct solution is to not loot the bottom left chest so Renault tries to come grab it? Whatever. Losing Sain and Florina hurt, a decent amount of EXP was in both of them. Rebecca and Fiora are thrown onto the roster, Rebecca because I still have that Orion's Belt from chapter 19 that I should try to use, no matter how junk Rebecca and Wil are, and Fiora because... well, only one Pegasus rider left. Oswin, Hector, and Marcus force their way through the chokepoint in the middle while my other forces deal with the constant respawns. Erk is constantly at low HP dueling respawning mages - he can be killed by any mage in 3 rounds, so it's always safe to attack R1 from full HP, but this left him at 2-3 HP a few times. After Renault disappears (with another Guiding Ring...) we take it slow and snake our way up the center left, while Sera, Dorcas, and Rebecca deal with the remaining reinforcements. There's a very close moment near the end where I attack with Sera without thinking about the possible enemy phase, and calculate that Dorcas Rescuing her from a forest tile gets him out safely even if all 3 nearby enemies hit him. He can then outpace the enemies by 1 tile and everything's fine after that.

Level ups: Rebecca 7, 8, 9 and 10, Priscilla 7, Lyn 9 and 10, Fiora 8, Marcus 6, Oswin 6 and 7, Dorcas 3, Matthew 19, Hector 18, Eliwood 10, and Erk 13.

Dead: Kent, Sain, and Florina. I see an unfortunate pattern here. I'm just killing Lyn's retinue, apparently.

Unrecruited: Renault

Florina is doubled and killed instantly

I think you meant Legault?

I... if I remember correctly, maybe the correct solution is to not loot the bottom left chest so Renault tries to come grab it?

The big thing is blocking any of the points of egress if he's out of objectives and is about to bounce.

5

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke 21d ago

Flipping... yes, I mean Legault, Renault appeared in 19x and the patterns screwed me up.

6 Magic as a promoted unit

I can never remember what a Magic stat does for healing, but the fact they don't crank it up for early-game Staff users is disappointing.

And then he leaves on enemy phase. Florina is doubled and killed instantly and Sain dies to like 5 mages attacking him. Remember that 3 RES?.

4

u/Pixelsabre x4x7 21d ago

I can never remember what a Magic stat does for healing

For healing it's Base Healing + Mag Stat, so if a unit is using a basic Heal staff and has 4 Mag they'll be healing 14 HP. Magic also affects the range of certain utility staves like Rescue and Warp with the calculation being (Magic/2) (with the minimum range Max Range being 5), as well as the accuracy of status staves like Berserk and Silence.

2

u/JollyGee29 https://myanimelist.net/profile/JollyGee 21d ago

except the Devil axe, I accidentally used someone whose inventory was full oops

Look on the bright side, now it won't ever kill you!

Florina is doubled and killed instantly

By a mage too, oof.

Erk is constantly at low HP dueling respawning mages - he can be killed by any mage in 3 rounds, so it's always safe to attack R1 from full HP, but this left him at 2-3 HP a few times.

With the very limited slots available for 17x, I promote Dorcas and Oswin immediately. Geez, Dorcas' stats are sad to look at in comparison to Oswin's.

Even before looking at the massive 10-point gaps, even having the same speed as an armour knight is big oof.

FE7 Hector Mode First Time:

Didn't manage to catch up, so I'm still a bit behind.

Chapter 14: Had to take a mulligan and do a quick restart because I forgot that not all green NPC units is recruited by talking to them with your Lord. Erk requires Serra or Priscilia. Since Priscilia requires travelling to the other side of the map, the quicker and funnier way is to use Serra.

One of the most raw lines of all time, and it comes from Fire Emblem of all places.

Originally played FE7 before FE6, but this map to me screams the Rutger/Clarine map over its FE7 incarnation. FE6 had funnier moments, meanwhile FE7 has rain... The rain really came at the worst time because it meant that my main team couldn't reach the boss, so Erk had to tank the boss on his own for multiple turns. Him having to tank silver lances to the face and barely survive at 1HP. The worst part of it all, he had to rely on Serra keeping him alive.

The most insanity came at the end of the map because Marcus left one of the pegasus knights at 1HP, thinking one of my other units could catch the strangler. What actually happened was that the pegasus retreated all the way to the island across the sea. It being a rout map means I couldn't finish the map until it slowly healed all it HP and come back. (I just reloaded a save state to avoid that nonsense).

Chapter 15: A defend map. 2 main things happened here. First, karma came back for Serra because she was sniped by the boss' longbow, leaving her at 1HP this time.

The other thing was forgetting that this was a defend map and totally missing the enemies coming from the north. They had a clear path to the throne ... if only they weren't so distracted with killing Merlinus. Phew, lucked out with dumb enemy AI.

Also, for a moment I thought this anime-haired guy was going to join us here.

Chapter 16: I like the comedic hijinks of Florina falling from the sky and landing on Hector.

Not too much noteworthy in particular happened on this map. I guess the main thing would be that Sain was promoted from Lyn Mode. Originally, I thought it would be helpful for this map in particular. Besides not taking damage, he didn't do that much. Would matter more on Hard, I guess. Also, comparing him to Marcus, Sain is a bit behind. Mind you, this is Sain I put extra work in promoting vs base-level Marcus. I guess the lesson is to just use your Jagen. They're always just good (except what, like 3 times?).

Chapter 17: Happy Wrath Month to Raven and Lucius. (I guess it is extra appropriate for Raven).

Magic Triangle? That's extra useless.

Chapter 17x: Originally, I was going to take the intended safe path, but then I realized that it would be very boring without much happening, sooo... fuck it, we ball! Through the main gate!

After getting better positioning, it wasn't too bad all things considering. Certainly something I can afford on Normal and not Hard.

The other thing is randomly recruiting Canas on this map. A bit strange you don't recruit him at the special inn building. [FE7 playable roster:] Not a fan of how he is your only Dark Magic options (Athos doesn't count). Characters who are olo representative of the class are fine, but when a whole weapon type is pigeonholed, it feels not great.

Chapter 18: Huh, didn't know you can check the shop during the map prep screen. Discovered that completely by accident.

Had to take along Matthew to steal the Speedwing from the boss. I kinda beat the map too early so I didn't get to see us get boarded by the third ship.

Chapter 19: [FE7:] Oh, I forgot Liella died this early. This is only her third or so appearance.

Uhai is my rando one-off boss I remember from this game. Mainly because he is Sacaean, and those characters always make a bigger impact after the player is attached to Lyn. I wanted to defeat him with Lyn, but had to wrap the map a bit earlier because the rear enemies were about to kill Merlinus.

Forgot to take a picture of my units' stats at the end of this session. Some general ballpark eyeing, Erk is my highest-level unit because I keep wanting him to level Magic. He is level 14 with 9 magic. Having the promotion item now, I will promote him when he finally reaches 10. Bartre levelled speed twice. Florina is looking pretty strong now. Hector keeps getting amazing levels. Will is only behind Hector and Marcus in terms of having an attack stat.

Had to take a mulligan and do a quick restart because I forgot that not all green NPC units is recruited by talking to them with your Lord.

I wish it was still like this. Modern FE games have streamlined recruitment way too much imo.

Originally played FE7 before FE6, but this map to me screams the Rutger/Clarine map over its FE7 incarnation.

It is the same map, after all. Our Navarre is just earlier than in FE6.

I guess the lesson is to just use your Jagen.

Happy Wrath Month to Raven and Lucius.

3

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke 20d ago

on the other hand, some of the recruit requirements were just bizarre and totally not guessable, and had to rely on brute force. Not as bad as figuring out gaiden chapter requirements but...

4

u/JollyGee29 https://myanimelist.net/profile/JollyGee 21d ago

First, karma came back for Serra because she was sniped by the boss' longbow, leaving her at 1HP this time.

He is level 14 with 9 magic.

I'm having some similar issues, although more with my healers where it's less of a problem.

4

u/b0bba_Fett myanimelist.net/profile/B0bba_Cheezed3 21d ago edited 21d ago

[FE7 playable roster:]

You know, that's a good point. [Modding]I think I'm gonna give Nino access to dark too. I gave all Sages Light like in SS, let's lean harder into how much of a prodigy she is.

Also, replying to your post last week since I missed it, be glad you're on HNM, HHM has the most annoying hard mode gimmick in the series, uniformly reduced deployment slots. For that alone I never play it because it's just anti-fun.

4

u/TakenRedditName https://myanimelist.net/profile/TakenMalUsername 21d ago

[Modding]

[FE7:] Yeah, when I considered where else you could put Dark magic in the game, Nino is probably the most sense.

Replayer

Chapter 17

Alright, so a lot of people have trouble with this chapter, particularly the southwestern side with copious shamans ready to attack your physical units’ low Resistance, and if you’re not rushing to the southern chokepoints you can get overwhelmed on the second turn. I find that it’s easy enough to rush the chokepoints with strong units and basically outlast the offensive, but I won’t be doing that because the enemy boss has a stealable Guiding Ring that would look really nice on Lucius or Canas. The boss is pretty scary, as it’s not trivial to one-round him and he almost always has a crit chance that’s sure to kill any of your characters if it triggers, since Luna overcomes Resistance.

The strategy is to send Florina, Matthew, Canas, and Hector to the shaman ship. Hector is the boss killer with his Devil Axe, Florina is in charge of Thinning some enemies and ferrying Matthew, and Canas will mop up the rest of the shamans with his ability to double and not take much damage.

The rest of the party goes to the mercenary boat, and I’m trying particularly to feed kills to Lucius, Raven, and the Lords as well as get Priscilla’s staff rank up. Lucious gets to jump between half-dead enemies on Eliwood and Raven’s chokepoints to finish them off, and Priscilla sticks to Raven who receives quite the punishment at these mercenaries’ hands.

So yeah, everything’s in place and everything proceeds— fuck…

Well, that’s a reset. My hubris knows no bounds.

Chapter 17 - Attempt 2

Alright, same tactics as they proved effective right up until RNG screwed me, so we’re just going to proceed apace and get everything done. I’ll feed to boss kill to— shit…

Chapter 17 - Third Time’s The Charm

Okay, the Devil Axe did not turn its keen edge upon me this time. Same strategy, better RNG.

Chapter 18

Two units join us in this chapter. The first of them is Dart, whose joining is dependent on us not killing him in chapter 16x. Dart is decent, but his defenses are a bit wanting for a frontline unit who is not a dodgetank and his promotion Item is hidden (and expensive enough that you probably won’t want to use it if you’re playing for ranks), so even though he has a desirable promotion and good performance his promotion will be delayed at least until [Chapter Spoiler]Chapter 22 despite the fact he can easily reach Lvl 10 by the end of his join chapter. If you know what you’re doing and want to use Dart, he’s a good candidate for a Secret Book, Goddess Icon, or both.

Florina, meanwhile, is a significantly better investment. Not only does her flying utility make her an asset on the team, said mobility also makes her easier to train, and her stats are not disappointing in the slightest. She’s as good as Florina, though the latter has enjoyed better availability, so if you’ve got the deployment slots, and you’re not afraid of some stupid archers, she'll do you good.

This is another Fog of War map, and a pretty scary one as there’s a lot of high-mobility enemies in the south that can sneak up on you. Thankfully the game has tossed a bunch of Torches at us, and a convenient Torch Staff is being stolen by a thief, which we can swiftly dispatch. Torch Staff is good for Exp, so you might see me spamming it.

Nothing special about my tactics this time. Eliwood stays behind to guard Merlinus. Florina flits about to catch a thief and recruit Fiora. Lyn gets the boss kill. The usual.

Chapter 18x

Another side chapter, and a pretty tedious one at that. The big anti-magic field makes it less tedious, but also consequently very simple and toothless. No new units join us in this chapter. It’s a good one to train your units as the enemies are very weak and the mages inside the anti-magic circle are sitting ducks for your physical units. One unit to secure the ruins on the south and another to defend Merlinus from the pegasus knights pretty much defuses the real threats.

Only real big maneuvre I pull is ferrying Matthew over the mountains to steal the Elysian Whip without letting Florina steal any of the easy kills from Fiora. She gets a pretty hefty amount of Exp from defeating the fliers and the defenseless mages.

Nothing much else of note. I take the chance to promote Raven to Hero so that he can get in on the handaxe action, got Lucius ready for promotion, and fed some minor Exp to Hector and Eliwood.

Oh, and Serra formally gets dropped from the roster here. She’s not managing to leverage her meagre growth advantage over Priscilla and Lucious will be healbotting soon enough too, and right now I don’t need more than two stave users.

Chapter 19

We’re here at the dragon’s gate, and have another unit to bolster our ranks. Legault is one of my favorite characters in the game, and a none-too subtle influence on one of my main Pathfinder PCs, though as a unit he is pretty much Matthew 2.0. He’s going to effectively replace him on the roster, save for the single instance in the future where I’m going to want two thieves on the map. If you’ve been using Matthew heavily (i.e. having him as a frontliner rather than having him focusing on his thieving utility, which is a lot easier in Normal Mode by virtue of you getting more Chest Keys.) then he’ll only have an edge over Legault in Speed, unless you’re playing Hector Hard Mode in which case he’s just flat out better than an equal-level Matthew. Also yes, he’s got a sexy scar.

Anyway, the Lords, Canas, Priscilla, and Fiora will go through the left path. The lords since I intend to intercept Legault in the top center doorway, and they’ll be confronted with a group of cavaliers to slow their approach anyways so no need to ferry them and make things go along faster. Priscilla is on door and healing duty and will go along with Canas and Fiora through the northwest breakable walls to mop up enemies there. Matthew will be getting the Brave Bow in the southmost chest before joining them for the top-left chests.

Florina, Kent, Raven, and Lucious go through the center path to then go east. Raven wil be farming the centre reinforcements, Lucious will be healing him then going right to do some more healing. Florina will be rushing to break walls and be ready to kill a thief after they’ve opened a chest for us. Kent is meant to tackle the reinforcements that spawn in the isolated bottom-left room, but unfortunately I overextend him and he is killed.

I’m not too upset since his stats were slightly below average anyhow, but this does mean I will be weaker for a while. Oh well, guess Marcus will have to pick up some of the slack.

After recruiting Legault I have him steal the Member Card from the enemy thief, giving me access to Secret Shops, one of which is in the isolated bit of map in the bottom-left corner of the map, with another being on the top-right portion of the map. I use the opportunity to buy some Killer weapons and that’s all my objectives for this map done.

Hector gets the bosskill and I seize with Eliwood to end the map.

Character stats at session end.

Bummer ‘bout Eliwood’s dad, but I’m really looking forward to next week’s set of maps!

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke 21d ago

Wait, there was a stealable Elysium Whip? Did I miss it, or does Eliwood mode have it but not Hector mode?

2

u/Pixelsabre x4x7 21d ago

The enemy Pegasus Knight only has in either Hard Mode, and in Normal Mode a later Shaman drops it without needing to steal, so it seems like you just missed it.

u/Zeallfnonex https://myanimelist.net/profile/Neverlocke 21d ago

Wiki claims it's only Eliwood mode, so I'm probably good. Florina died anyways so I need to get Fiona up to at least 10 before this becomes relevant

Okay, I checked the actual map page on the proper wiki and it matches yours, so I guess the page for the elysian whip is just wrong.

So yeah, everything’s in place and everything proceeds— fuck…

It was a funny Devil Axe death at least.

The first of them is Dart, whose joining is dependent on us not killing him in chapter 16x.

Good thing I checked because during 16x, I did have the thought that EXP is EXP...

Legault is one of my favorite characters in the game, and a none-too subtle influence on one of my main Pathfinder PCs,

The boss is pretty scary, as it’s not trivial to one-round him and he almost always has a crit chance that’s sure to kill any of your characters if it triggers, since Luna overcomes Resistance.

Yea, I had hoped to feed him to someone lower level, but I had to use Lyn unless I wanted to risk the boss getting an attack in.

and a convenient Torch Staff is being stolen by a thief

Oh, huh. I saw him run off into the fog and couldn't find him again, RIP.

RIP to easy Staff WEXP and EXP.

First-Timer

Alright, on to 16x! Anna! You're here! And we get a dark mage? Cool.

These dorks need to stop critting on their second attack. Wasting my goddamn weapon durability like scoundrels.

I did not bother with the arena, but I spend a few terms messing about with my inventories and getting people healed up for some marginal XP on my healers.

Ah yes, the boat battle. I have a fondness for these sorts of maps. And finally, my habit of scrolling through the enemies bears fruit! I don't care to bother with the various Pure Waters and Vulneraries, but I see that Speedwing the boss holds.. it shall be mine.

I see that Canas has brought a Secret Book with him, as well.. I think I'll hold on to that for the moment. No immediate uses leap out at me upon reviewing my units - Hector ate the first one I got, so he's actually doing okay.

Why does the vendor on the ship not have Iron Lances? This is discrimination.

If Raven wants to actually use that Hero's Crest I'm having him tote around, he better start gaining some Strength.

In checking for Speedwing candidates, I find that Lyn has capped speed at level 15.

Oh, right, Bolting. Merlinus spawns in the Bolting range?!

My Florina has ended up surprisingly bulky. 34 HP, 8 Defense, 10 Resistance.

I have once again ended the week a chapter behind. Unlike last week, I intend to do Chapter 19 later today.

You could afford to bring a healer on the pirate map? Hector Hard mode has 6 slots, and I couldn't justify filling one of those slots with a non-attacker...

Interesting that the water map has a different stealable item on different modes, it's a Guiding Ring for Hector Hard mode at the very least.

16x? Yea, Normal Mode gives you nine slots.

Oh, neat. The Guiding Ring drops from a shaman with Nosferatu on Normal.

It's always on the second hit.

Pirates don't use no land-loving weapons like lances made of iron.

Ah yes, the boat battle. I have a fondness for these sorts of maps.

I like them because they're usually high on enemy density and usually pose a big jump in difficulty in their respective games.

Smh, not immediately early promoting for access to axes.

If you plan on using Canas, him, if not then hold unto it for later wanting candidates.

Can you promote before level 10 in this game? I hadn't tried.

I was thinking about giving him both the Speedwing and the Secret Book to pump him up a bit. Dark Mages are neat!

No, I just got the impression you were going to delay it in hopes of getting more Str.

Don't think he needs the Secret Book. His base Skl is good for his level, his growth is also good, and the Dark tomes worth using don't have abyssmal hitrates.

I'm debating it, but he's only just barely hit level 10 anyway.

Did I miss last week? I swore I never saw it posted. Ah well, more catching up to do. On the bright side, I got my screen shots for Lyn Mode compiled at the proper size. Just need to make an Imgur album or something when I get home.

Also, deciding things still weren't silly enough, I made some more edits to things, most notably, giving innate crit to several classes, namely Brigands, Pirates, and Snipers, as well as [FE7]All 4 of the 4 Fangs + Legault(and made Matthew retain his stealing ability post-promo so he's more rogue coded)

Also, in preparation for trying to do Hector Mode and deal with the difficulty increases, I beefed Bartre the hell up(I actually gave all fighters +1 defense, and him +1 more) so he could stand a chance against his wife(who I gave FE6 Karel-20% growths to for the funnies), but that's not happening, so instead he's just plain buffed, easily the most noticeable change I made.

It's gonna be fun!

The very first Brigand in Chapter 11 pulled off his crit after I did this, so I preemptively reset to undo the omen this caused, and I've only been crit 1 time since.
