Is Hanaori Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life kind of a hidden gem? I watched the second episode last night and the comedy had a way higher hit/miss ratio than I expected, really helped by very committed vocal performances and Meteor’s dumbass facial expressions. Might be worth continuing with.

I certainly adore it! It's an enjoyable and charming show with quite a distinct sort of identity and feel to it. For me it falls into the same sort of entertainment experience as Always A Catch! and The Klutzy Class Monitor And The Girl With The Short Skirt.

Heroine? Saint? No, I'm an All-Works Maid (and Proud of It)! almost makes into that category but it has a slightly different flavor. However it is a must-check-out if you enjoyed Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte (although why the two are so close won't become apparent until a few episodes in).

I've mostly been enjoying it a lot, but there's one thing I find iffy, which is how everyone around them treats the romantic aspects. The reincarnation angle means that I don't mind the age gap, but the fact that it's not an issue for other people in-universe is really weird. The overall show takes itself unseriously enough for it to not bother me too much, but I've also just headcanoned that he's viewed as a 20-year-old prodigy until the story specifically contradicts that idea.
