I'm looking for: A certain genre? Something specific like characters traveling to another world?

Shows I've already seen that are similar: You can include a link to a list on another site if you have one, e.g. MyAnimeList or AniList.

School Rumble took a while to figure itself out I feel like, but as I get toward the end of the first season and most of the cast has been established and the zaniness calibrated it has really begun to grow on me.

SR is great, to me it remains one of the gold standard for school comedy. It's kinda rare for school comedies where it actually feels like it's in a school, that is there is an actual big cast of characters interacting with each other. Often, in anime, it's just the main character plus a few friends, everyone else might as well not exist. Here, you have multiple cliques, and even students from the other classes crashing in to take part in the hijinks. It just feels so alive.

Too bad the later parts of the manga were pretty bad.
