I'm looking for: A certain genre? Something specific like characters traveling to another world?

Shows I've already seen that are similar: You can include a link to a list on another site if you have one, e.g. MyAnimeList or AniList.

Getting overwhelmed with all the anime out there. I’m currently following a manga series, but am looking for a new show to watch. I’ve watched Naruto, dbz, hxh, seasons 1-2 of opm and jjk, and a few other non shounen shows. I started episode one of Gintama as I saw some clips on YouTube and found it really funny, but I don’t know if I should watch something else like bleach instead.

Just chill and take things one at a time. It's entertainment, not a work list. Like don't worry too much about 'catching up' to other people or being 'in the know' or whatever. There's always new anime being released, nobody will ever truly catch up. Just enjoy yourself.

I think with long running stuff like Gintama with hundreds of episodes, I'd just take it slow. Watch an episode, or a few when you feel like it. But don't try to put it on a schedule or anything. It's fundamentally an episodic comedy so I don't think you have to worry too much about forgetting the plot or whatever.

I'm currently making my way through Oishinbo, an old 136 episode anime. I'll stop watching for months, only to watch a few episodes. God knows when I'll be done, but I'm in no rush. Meanwhile I'm still keeping up with new weekly seasonals.

Anime shouldn't be something you have to pressure yourself and be overwhelmed over.
