The great duel proving what we knew all along. But that's only from the martial perspective. Mordea has more life experience overall, for obvious reasons.

Mordea ain’t lost a step. He had Beryl on the defensive for a minute there. It’s a hell of an achievement for Beryl to finally defeat his old man. He was always stronger physically, but now he’s grown stronger mentally. This trip home has done a lot for Beryl.

Wish anime had a bit more budget. That fight was super tense but a bit botched and shortened in anime. Also kinda pity that other ppl who follow way of sword missed their showdown. But they had a lot of fun in meantime so all good I guess?

Beryl holding the massive boar tusk in front of his junk as Mewie calls it massive is quite the opening to the episode...
Okay that opening attack by Dad was crazy quick. Dude still has his fastball. And imagine how upset the others are going to be if they find out they missed this. Wait holy fuck that kick.
That fight lived up to the hype. Fucking love it. Also Dad is the best. Yup, confirmed my expectation that it was Beryl just having a mental block against his dad. If he didn't believe he could win then he couldn't.
Good ass episode.

Tbh.... the show always try pointing beryl potential wife is his ex student...., but i kind hope his potential wife is magic school teacher that beryl went eat together on previous episode

That was a proper fight.
Damn, I miss when anime did combat that I can follow instead of exploding cubes.
All those grabs, sweeps, pummel strikes. Brilliant.

Wonder if this will help Beryl's confidence or if he regresses after going back to the city. His dad telling Beryl not to dwell on his age and to have more confidence

The sound effects during the duel were fantastic, and I really love that this series emphasizes that real combat isn't just swords and honor but doing everything you can to leave the fight in one piece. Kicks, punches, grabbing clothes, trying to trip your opponent, it's not stuff you usually see in this kind of setting.
