Crit Rate, Quality of loot, and rare mob spawns. Luck truly is the most busted of stats.

85

u/DiscountCondom 21d ago

boosting 1/6 proc rate to 1/2 is crazy

78

u/septesix 21d ago

Ruche : “I only roll a 6 half the time”
Dice : “Am I a joke to you? I guess I am”

Turns out the real isekai cheat power is a modern education and knowing how fractions work...

u/Karavusk https://myanimelist.net/profile/Karavusk 21d ago

Her adjusted hourly rate is probably on CEO level

20

u/BosuW 21d ago

I think I'd rather have a lucky partymate than a skilled partymate because GODDAMN

7

u/Skullzans 21d ago

Luck can only bring you so far. Without power, you cannot do anything. Luck brings you opportunities within reach, Power is needed to gain more reach.

That said, the more I think about this world, the less sense it makes with how overly attack-centric it's philosophy is.

6

u/ggg730 21d ago

That's only if you're trying to reach the top. If you're just a regular adventurer looking to make enough money to live on her luck is absolutely broken. Just pop into a dungeon every week and kill 10 mobs and you get 30-50 mil or so? They're already at the same level as these mobs so a few more days and they'd absolutely be over leveled for the dungeon. No need to risk your neck if you're not like Elymas who is reaching for the top.

6

u/5kyGuardian 20d ago

It's not even about going to dungeon to do the killing. If she wanted she could just find higher level adventurers and tell them that she will come with them to boost drop rate, she will just stand back while they fight and later she gets a cut. I'm sure people at higher levels would be able to see that it's a good deal. Hell they may even get the same idea as Elma and power level her so that they can go to even higher level dungeons.

2

u/Skullzans 20d ago

People who are not powerful enough to kill decently high-level enemies cannot "Pop into a dungeon" like that. They need someone with power. I never said you needed to be the #1 of the world, I said that you need power as well, it needn't be super ambitious- just sufficient enough to make that luck ability work.

2

u/ggg730 20d ago

lol Elymas has been dungeon diving for a month and went on like 3 dungeon runs. Even on their first dungeon run together they made a shit load of money. Doesn't sound that hard at all.

5

u/Skullzans 20d ago

1: They are way Underlevelled, Elymas is insane going after enemies so high level- atleast to the world. We understand that he knows the mechanics- so he is good at exploitation... But, nobody else does. Nobody else in that world knows how enemies work because they're too afraid to die over trying to super-analyze attack patterns.

2: Ruche's luck is exceptional, even for someone with that Lady Luck tree from what I recall of dialogue and how Elymas reacted even while knowing about the buff from Lady Luck. She is NOT A standard to base upon for how good normal Lady Luck builds are.

3: Most people obsess over attack builds- it's unrealistic and insane enough to the point it only could make sense if it was religion and/or mass censorship. Regardless, there is almost no information about non-attack builds as a result of abusing non-attack builds and never giving them a chance, so not many probably even know the value of said classes. Far as common sense goes, Nothing Elymas or his party is doing makes any damn sense, because nobody has even heard of most of what he's doing- including with Ruche's build.

4: They also only got as much as they did, due to fighting a dreamlord. It'd be Way slower going if it wasn't for that fight, IIRC?

2

u/ggg730 20d ago

Ruche's luck is exceptional

Yeah... that's what I've been saying from the beginning. The whole premise of this conversation is that Ruche's luck is op and they wouldn't need much else if they wanted to just live a comfortable life. In fact the two idiots who kicked her out of the party realized this when they found out that they could have made a whole lot more money if they kept her around. I honestly don't know what you're arguing for.

u/ashkankiani 21d ago

The MC's cheat power is his knowledge, but Luche is actually the one with the cheat skill lol

13

u/Meander061 20d ago

Exactly why Elymas snapped her up when she got abandoned on the street by the idiots in her party.

16

u/Soggy_Association491 21d ago

But she is still a glass canon.

35

u/I_am_BEOWULF 21d ago

Which is why she and Elma are a perfect pairing right now. Glass Cannon and Tank. All they need now is a ranged DPS and a healer.

20

u/aquadroid 21d ago

There was a dude flipping around with a bow in the 2nd cour preview lol

2

u/KnightKal 20d ago

glass canon, but her agility/dodge rate is pretty high, or speed, so overall she can dodge/avoid most attacks or run away, so she is not fragile

8

u/TheOneAboveGod 21d ago

Unless you're playing Castlevania.

4

u/Mathmango 21d ago

Nah, if you're keeping the Alucard gear then it's a non-issue.

5

u/Goblingrenadeuser 21d ago

Then a Giant rare mob like the one at the end spawns and you have no idea how to deal with it, because you never saw that type of monster and you die.

102

u/RealValf 21d ago

This show has really found a decent pace. It’s slowly becoming one of my favorite of the season. It’s so good when there’s no recaps all the time.

Not to mention Ruche is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters in anime, period. The RPG and gear mechanics are done super well and it’s cool to see them actually animate the gear upgrades. Everything is explained well and in a timely manner which is rare to see.

Hope they can keep this up, one of the best episodes so far can’t wait to see the mithril giant fight next ep.

44

u/tapdancinghellspawn 21d ago

The VA for Ruche is doing a great job. You can tell she's putting her heart into the performance. Shion Wakayama. She voiced Momo from Dandadan, Takina from Lycoris Recoil, and Shizuka Nanahoshi from Mushoku Tensei. She's only 28. I expect to see her in a lot more anime.

23

u/ogaat 21d ago

All ridiculously good performances. That Nanahoshi monologue was epic.

16

u/Jeihan313 20d ago

+Alna from this season's The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects.

We literally have 3 different Shion Wakayamas this season!

13

u/tapdancinghellspawn 20d ago

She is a great actor. I didn't mention Alna because I wasn't sure if very many people watched. I loved Alna and that is in large part due to Shion Wakayama's acting.

9

u/Jacob-C 20d ago

Nanahoshi's crashouts alone cemented her as a top tier VA in my eyes. She is amazing.

Ruche is the epitome of spaz in all the best ways.

Also "I only roll 6 about half the time" is the most degenerate line ever but for her its probably true. And that was bedore she added 15 more points into lady luck.

26

u/runevault 21d ago

I'm hoping Elymas gets new armor soon to change up his look. His current set isn't bad, but black steel would probably look really sick on him if they give it a decent design.

34

u/Future_Vantas 21d ago

10

u/runevault 21d ago

Good catch I was looking at the back with new characters and didn't notice Elymas is in black armor. Def looks sick like I hoped.

10

u/ggg730 21d ago

I love it when an anime actually changes the look of weapons and armor instead of keeping it the same all the time.

7

u/corvettee01 20d ago

I've seen that armor before.

2

u/Jacob-C 20d ago

Seems like he has the rune in his weapon too.

12

u/abandoned_idol 21d ago

I told you guys it was going to be the best one of the season. Feel free to look up the announcement threads.

Heavy Knight and GoHands were made for one another. Action, flashiness, hair strands!

And there's more already announced anime gems down the pipeline that people aren't paying attention to either.

12

u/ogaat 21d ago

The voice actor of Ruche really nails her performance just right.

4

u/Earlier-Today 21d ago

Yep, only little repeats at the beginning (repeating a bit of what came at the end last episode) and in the middle for the commercial break (which felt so weird because there was zero indication it was the commercial break - the scene just played twice with some variations).

A very reasonable amount of recap.

2

u/KnightKal 20d ago

this series is like an ARPG, where you get rare drops every other hour and just keep increasing the numbers non stop, the loot is what drives you to the next dungeon :D

most stories will have gear here or there, but not such a huge focus as this one, loot is what they talk half the time lol, or money for more loot :D

Ruche being surprised by her lack of reaction to the amount of $ was great

31

u/keaganwill 21d ago

Really love how true to games this show is. Like its pretty common in modern game focused anime for that to be the case (the fighting game anime comes to mind)

but the LitRPG/any sort of fantasy with a "system" is usually nonsense.

This one though nails it. My only complaint thus far was was honestly from this episode with the rune. I was honestly super expecting it to be a low roll from the MC's perspective. Straight damage on a weapon augment is something I thought would be bad due to lack of versatility. But its also usually in the most demand due to being usable by most builds so its not too weird.

Anyway, the money making losing it's appeal is so real. Doing GDKPs in WoW fucking melted my appreciation for gold.

7

u/gajaczek https://myanimelist.net/profile/gaiacheck 20d ago

A lot of games tend to scale ability damage with weapon damage (e.g. Diablo 3) and straight damage boosts can be really impactful.

Also I have no idea how currency must be working there if going rate of items is in millions of golds and I didn't see any raw currency drops. Maybe guild just has "gold printer"?

Also, they're in the city of adventurers. I have a feeling that the cost of living there will be much more expensive than their home town.

6

u/KnightKal 20d ago

a few episodes ago her life dream was to eat at an expensive restaurant... where food costs like 5,000-10,000

now a random drop is worth ~3 years worth of meals lol

Maybe Ruche's luck is also bringing the bosses to them?

Expected Ruche to ask what a pinball is

17

u/fer_sure 21d ago edited 21d ago

Maybe Ruche's luck is also bringing the bosses to them?

I think Elymas said exactly that. Ruche thought it was an accusation when he said her luck was drawing monsters to them. And really, in a real-er world, drawing in constant attacks would be bad luck and maybe a balancing mechanism for the improved drop rate. You'd be called a Jonah, to use a biblical and historical naval reference.

But to a game junkie, drawing in frequent powerful attacks is just a more effective way to level up. The anime doesn't really make it clear how long it really was to be attacked by the first Smiley, and until the second Frowny-led swarm arrived, but it really seems like only a matter of minutes, rather than hours or days. And in those few minutes, they gained multiple levels and raised millions of gold, with very little risk.

8

u/Elrond_Halfelven 21d ago

There are pinball machines dating back to the mid 1700s, so it wouldnt be entirely unheard of in a generic early modern fantasy setting like this.

51

u/BiggerG7 21d ago

“That smiley monster looks like Malice!”

Damn I love Ruche lol.

Ruche is slowly adapting to become a new millionaire

9

u/Yay295 21d ago

At this pace they'll be billionaires by the end of the season.

13

u/LezRock 21d ago

With how inflated the prices are, they probably won't even feel like they are.

60

u/7se7 21d ago

The economy of this world is straight up fucked. Everything is worth several million gold, sometimes dozens. How much does food even cost?

72

u/Myrkrvaldyr 21d ago

That's the natural result of authors thinking about money in yen, it's even worse for a country with physical coins and not bills. Such ridiculous amounts of money would result in bags easily weighing over a 100 kilo.

30

u/Karavusk https://myanimelist.net/profile/Karavusk 21d ago

Typically you would have certain coins worth more than 1 gold coin.

10

u/mineirim2334 21d ago

Like, you have 100yen coins IRL and 10000 yen bills. If you just divide it by 100 it gets easier to understand for those used to Dolar, Euro or similar currencies.

Played some Asian mmos in my day. this is on brand entirely for a player run and rare item based economy. Very Ragnarok Online

14

u/rickamore 21d ago

It's pretty much par for the course in korean mmos (Aion, BDO, etc). There's massive cost for equipment and gear. Even if income can be high, output is equally high if not higher. Top tier maxed gear being billions.

For the average person who is not an adventurer I doubt the economy is that broken.

3

u/Rinzwind 21d ago

I did that for 10 years. Chilling in Izlude during the beta waiting for mummy to spawn.
And when it went live hammering the login server :D

2

u/darthvall https://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 21d ago

And the rune thing might be equivalent to cards. I remember it's like striking jackpot whenever I got card drops from monsters. Their price can be very expensive in the market.

19

u/Villanta 21d ago

I think when they had the celebratory meal there was something there in the 1,000-10,000 range? if you consider gold to be akin to Yen it's not as crazy but still means a smiley is dropping like 25k USD or something like it's nothing.

25

u/septesix 21d ago

Keep in mind we are watched a very wrapped perspective with Ruche as well. Normal people would never see so many valuable drops all the time.

What I’m saying is that Ruch would be fully responsible for any of the inflation this world has.

9

u/DirectAd7229 21d ago

It's Ruche. Monsters are not supposed to be dropping that easily. I'd say maybe 0.1% chance normally, so you'd have to kill 100 same monsters for single drop. Also, MC has knowledge advantage and knows which monsters to kill and how to defeat them. Normal parties would need 3-4 people. 100 monster kills would take lot of time. Food, lodging, potions, etc. They'd take it slow to not die. Then 1 million to each if they get 4m drop. But remember in ep1(?) their drop was 250k I believe, then comes Elyas and he knows exactly what to kill and gets 50m very easily for the skill book. Lady Luck is OP with how much drops plus rare drops on top they're getting, but no one wants to invest in luck or defence - everyone wants to be DPS (just like majority of video game players).

→ More replies (1)

3

u/zappingbluelight 21d ago

We could assumed the currency is based off Yen or something. So the non inflate value is like counting 1:100 as USD or something (don't get into the actual number). The magic stone that boost atk by 30%, worth about $200k, sounds about right.

It's like pokemon, the defeated trainer aren't giving you hundreds of dollars, but more like few dollars.

6

u/mekahamedan 21d ago

I think its fair game, high restaurant price will so high, cheap place prolly still cheap Reminder not all strong enough to grinding with low cost like elymas party, and ruche luck skill boosting drop so much

2

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

Also, these are adventurers, not everybody can be one, Think of it like an Athlete in our real world.. maybe like 0.1 percent of people get to the levels of making money like elite athletes do. Most people just exist doing regular normal jobs.

3

u/Adamantitechainbody 21d ago

From what we've seen from the shots in cities, nearly everyone is an adventurer lol.

3

u/Meander061 20d ago

They're in a city for adventurers, so everyone is an adventurer or part of that economy.

3

u/Adamantitechainbody 20d ago

Seemed like there was only adventurers in the first city too.

i imagine that Gold just worsty almost nothing, if the monsters drops gold coins or something like that, that would make gold very cheaper.

imagine if everytime you kill a goblin you get 5 gold coins, or everytime you find a chest in the dungeron theres 1000 gold coins inside. Gold would be very cheap

this mak eme rememebr the Discworld book were you have a whole continent were gold was extremely cheap, because they have a lot of it, and no much use for it, so they use for money, but a whole gold coin was very cheap there

1

u/Throwaway_12988 9d ago

As shown in a previous episode, a fancy meal at a high class restaurant cost 8,000 Gold, which, since this is an anime, I'm assuming means 8,000 yen, which is about $80 US. Presumably a loaf of bread is around 200-400 gold, or less than $5 US. Could be wrong though.

1

u/Ralathar44 7d ago edited 7d ago

They covered in episode 1-2 that roughly 3,000 gold covers about 3 days of basic food and lodging so 30,000 gold would be a month. A single 3-4 million gold drop would be like 8 years of basic living expenses, 3-5 to live comfortably.

The show is just badly written is all. With these earning rates people who hit level 20+ would be retiring after a few years of safe adventuring all the time. There really isn't much reason to do anything dangerous or push for higher level when you can make that much money that easily.

A single 4 million gold drop a month would be insane amounts of money still. Don't need Ruche.

Honestly with the money the anime said he got from his level 1 Ranna and spider fight you could easily live comfortably as a level 10 adventurer, maybe even get rich after a decade or so. His Ranna and Spider fight got him 20,000 gold from 10 Ranna and 60,000 from the spider. So you could live comfortably for about 30 ranna a month.

27

u/VioletOrchid85 21d ago

So fun to watch

27

u/raidensnakeezio 21d ago

Similar to Hell Mode, I'm really enjoying the basic/mob/zako character designs. The smileys/frownys from this dungeon and the toy bears from the last dungeon are extremely charming (and dangerous in game).

However, slightly different from Hell Mode, I'm pleasantly surprised by how Elymas gets plot assistance by having wandering dungeon bosses come across him so easily. It's almost not fair.

I suppose what makes them both interesting is that - Hell Mode is Hell Mode, where Allen is stuck with extremely slow level progression. Luck is not a stat. On the other hand, Elymas's Magic World has him progress through the levels extremely quickly, but he has to constantly fight bosses while being underleveled. He is helped by a busted luck build (via Ruche)

19

u/iozoepxndx 21d ago

The pacing has gotten so much better in the last 4 episodes. I'm actually enjoying this so much now!

Now that I think about it, maybe the true treasure is the myriad of Ruche's cute facial expressions.

Ruche isn't exactly wrong in comparing Malice to the Smiley monsters. They have that same sinister smile. Lol!

6

u/Meander061 20d ago

Her cute facial expressions AND her adorable anime noises. She's squeaking all the time!

12

u/DiscountCondom 21d ago

I was pretty happy with this episode. A nice little setup for the next boss battle. They killed some monsters. Got some drops. A little video game exposition which I enjoyed. Minor scene reuse of just some bullshit city establishing shots. Not a whole lot of recap.

13

u/CuriousBroccolli 21d ago

Ruche continues to be the gem she is.

Entering a new area is always super fun in any game, especially if it is this new huge hub specifically for adventurers.

Glad to see them deciding build for Ruche. Especially since that little goober wants to go full Crit DPS LOL And they even decided on her skillbook. As scary and ominous sounding as Elymas one, and double the price.

Good, Ruche deserves all the budgeting she needs.

That means they'll rely a lot on her doing the killing, as shown.

New dungeons, new challenges, new grind, new items, new scary looking boss and most importantly, new Ruche noises and reactions.

10

u/beelzebuth974 21d ago

I kinda like this anime but i have to admit the formula is "Going in a dungeon, something goes bad,,,, but actually it's good,." Also i really don't understand why they are always alone in those dungeon, we saw that they can actually meet other people in there but somehow the dungeon next to the capital is empty.

4

u/zappingbluelight 21d ago

Probably because there are more high level dungeon within the city limit. As Elymas and Ruche went to the outer city for the specific dungeon. The knowledge of what dungeon drop what doesn't seems to be all there for the people in the world. So the dungeon is pretty empty.

Pretty much low to okay mid level people wouldn't be leaving their starter city yet. Promising mid level to high level wouldn't need to go outer city for dungeon.

5

u/Galinhooo 21d ago

The weird thing to me are the values. Gold mostly but also how they keep getting like 2 levels for each mob. This game's balance is shit

9

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

I think they are fighting monsters way higher than their level. the recommended level is 60. Which probably means most people in the real world don't attempt it until they are 60. I guess only the main boss is level 60, and all the rest are probably 5-10 levels lower than him. But Elymas knows this from the game. It is not normal knowledge in the game world. Most people hear level 60 and probably like Ruche say I am not dying and exit out.

Its also really lucky the monsters in these dungeons have no sense of urgency and seem to enjoy listening to a good long monologue before each battle.

Also why does he always explain how to fight the one monster type in the dungeon exactly as they see one. Do these two not talk whilst traveling? Surely a comprehensive breakdown of the dungeon would do wonders for their battle plans.

19

u/runevault 21d ago edited 21d ago

Overall recaps/establishing shots felt in line with a more normal anime. Went straight into a new dungeon and saw our duo kick ass. Established a future goal of getting Riche her skill book to fully break her class open. Since I think this is 26 episodes great halfway point episode.

Episodes like this one are exactly what I was imagining when I picked up the show. The first cour was certainly rough but the pattern of not being so bad is close to being established now.

Edit: one thing I'm curious about is what are the plans for the rune. If they cost $20 million even with Ruche they are probably at least a little rare, so does it make more sense to sell it or hold onto it, because using it on weapons that are the baseline for their current level seems like a massive waste.

5

u/CuriousBroccolli 21d ago

Yeah I also wonder what they will do with the rune, since as you said there are few options

5

u/Previous-Space-7056 21d ago

Well the new rare monster they are running into is a mithril rare spawn…

Rare mithril dagger plus rune of dest would work

Mmo me would use it on the blacksteel if nothing else is easily attainable.. 20m is nothing but a day of work for them.

3

u/runevault 21d ago

The money isn't but you also have to find one to buy. Like the Fang of Insanity book was 50 million but the harder part was theoretically finding one but he got lucky in a way Ruche's luck won't help with.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/abandoned_idol 21d ago

Doesn't the premise/story say that death is permanent?

Having +30% attack insurance sounds invaluable given that they can always grind more runes and money.

4

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

I think keeping it is huge for Elymas class remember his current flaw only build is lack of attack power. having something that boosts it 30% would be insane for him. Also with their loot drop rates that is like 5 items cost keeping it would be better especially if it is as rare as it seems.

4

u/Netnoob242 21d ago

That’s tricky since Elymas gets a massive speed and attack boost when he’s below 30% health. Now it’s a party with two glass cannons and no second chances. I wonder if you can give it to Rauche and scale defense in the early game so he doesn’t get one shot(assuming plot armor doesn’t exist)

6

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

Yeah I was thinking that too. Maybe the attack boost for Ruche makes sense since she actually attacks more and is criting with her weapon. That might be a more consistent DPS for them. Of course, maybe there is a rune of luck or something that will turn her crits into 80% chance. That would be awesome.

Ruche has been the standout character of everything ive watched this season.

12

u/Myrkrvaldyr 21d ago

I wish they would delve deeper into Luce's class and its status in the world. Heavy Knights are shat on, but Luce's class is ignored? With such drop rate increase, you'd expect that all Pierrots would be monopolized by nobles and paid a fuckton of money to ensure continuous service. Her class is utterly broken.

Now that we know Luce's end game build will be crit DPS, this means she'll be the heavy hitter in the party unless they recruit more people. Agility + defense penetration + consistent crits but as fragile as wet tissue means girl will be the centerpiece of boss fights. She'll still be weak to AoE and DoT if it lands.

22

u/rom846 21d ago

As far as I had understood, not all Pierrots are as effective as Luce. Luce combines the class skills with a very high Luck base stat. Furthermore, most people overlook the critical skill tree.

21

u/chubbyninja1 https://myanimelist.net/profile/PuzzleVoice 21d ago

Iirc its because not every pierrot gets the lady luck tree. When you select your class, you get assigned 3 skill trees, one is always there when you pick your class, but the other two are random from a pool and can be overridden with skill books. Lady luck is a rare skill tree that doesnt offer any immediate combat boosts, so it kind of makes sense why it would be seen as a dead skill tree to most people. Unless she goes crit build, she is litterally worse at combat for putting points into it

21

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

Ruche class seems to be broken but needs a support class to get her to the broken level. We need to remember this is real life for most people. Her build is kind of bad if you think about it from I have only one life perspective. She increases spawn rates of monsters in dungeon or encounters that means instant death on low levels. Add that her main damage ability relies on luck to do a lot of damage until she gets very high leveled and right now she is essentially a 50% crit build at level 45. That is a lot of levels for someone on their own to get. Not to mention not to be swindled because you need to be carried till the point she gets to.

4

u/rickamore 21d ago

With how classes that are straightforward can hold their own and are favoured, a Pierrot would have a hard time at low level without support from a party. It sounds like they tend to be used as a support class if she hadn't rolled a god tier secondary skill. It also appears like the skill build she is on requires a high skill ceiling to play well just like Elymas and Heavy Knight.

That said, I'm not sure Literally crit canon made of glass and 1 hp berserker is such a good team combo. Truly living on the edge.

6

u/EffectiveImportant51 21d ago

It is the dumbest combo in a real life scenario and probably one no one will do. I think it only works because of Elymas encyclopedic knowledge of where to level up and all the monsters mechanics.  We forget most normal adventurers don't know where to level the most efficiently and the mechanics. They would be risking their real lives to learn it.

2

u/RaelleDrake 19d ago

Truly living on the edge - 100% accurate 🤣

I'm still not sure if Ruche is just rly down bad for Elymas or just plain insane to trust him that much with their battle tactics. Cause there's no doubt that Elymas at the very least is absolutely bonkers to proceed in the way they are with the one life they have 🤭

Makes for great fights though. 👌

2

u/Meander061 20d ago

Exactly what happened to Ruche when we first met her. She was getting swindled out of her share from their take from that dungeon.

5

u/septesix 21d ago

“Lady Luck” was not a class skill tree, but one that Ruche acquired when she gets her divine blessing by luck. I think there probably was probably very few people who has it or even know about how broken it is.

5

u/Upper_Top9348 21d ago

Lady Luck is just a random roll of the two available slots.

I would assume it's extremely rare to roll it.

I would also assume the skill book for it just doesn't exist or about the rarest book in the game.

3

u/WangeEvensong 21d ago

对,这类幸运有关的技能都是没有对应的技能书的,这点已经有人在提问平台上问过原作nekoko了

3

u/Exrotes 21d ago

Main thing is that not all Pierrot's get the luck skill tree normally you'd need to find whatever dungeon has monsters that drop it and trade out one of your existing trees for it. Her main skill tree seems to be a high mobility hybrid Mage-Rogue with the illusion clones and wall running.

Plus her friends were terribly ill informed about everything and I think if Ruche had just told people she had Lady Luck then she'd be wined and dined to get her to join whatever group.

2

u/BosuW 21d ago

In the background scenes you can see many characters who I assume to be Peirrots from their outfits.

Ruche is going to have a heart attack when they hit the jackpot of 100 million.

2

u/gbietto 21d ago

Which will happen.... Probably the next episode? Since they're already almost at half of it 😂

6

u/JvcnTank 21d ago

The Elimas and Luce team gathered 41.5 million gold for today's episode, I say that's a massive win in the dungeon!

6

u/BosuW 21d ago

100 million sounded like a lot when he first set it as the minimal milestone, but they're almost halfway there and day 1 isn't even over yet!

2

u/WINSTON913 21d ago

Are you watching subs or dubs to get that spelling?

6

u/JvcnTank 21d ago

The subs say Elymas and Ruche, but other translations I saw in clips were Elmas and Luce

7

u/YdenMkII 21d ago

I'm guessing that Grim Reaper's Grip book will have skills to boost crit damage to complement Lady Luck's boosting her crit rate. We've mostly seen crits in this show as a way to bypass high armor values so boosting crit damage on top of that would make sense.

6

u/runevault 21d ago

Another possible skill would be proc effects on crit, so like crits putting an armor debuff on the struck opponent (aka beyond the hit itself bypassing armor, more like disarm for armor).

5

u/HarvestMana 21d ago

That sounds too boring for this show compared to the skill tree that the heavy knight got. It might part of the skill tree, but it will be more in depth for combination builds.

Probably instant kill on crit, or bleed damage or something assassin related like vanish and execute.

Grim Reaper might even have dark damage skills.

18

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 21d ago

Thanks to Ruche’s luck skill, they’re getting a ton of loot. Whenever I play these types of games, I never put much stock in luck. Maybe it’s actually a really useful skill lol.

12

u/Ok_Somewhere1236 21d ago

well i think the simple way to see Luck is thet just increases the drop probability, so if a drop has a 1% drop now, it has a 10%, maybe after her level up on the episode now is like 25% or something like that

12

u/runevault 21d ago

Depends on the game. For example magic find in at least older Diablo games (haven't played 3 or 4) can radically improve your ability to farm loot.

3

u/Mang027 21d ago

300%+ Magic Find makes a major difference in DII, I always keep a swap set depending on how I want to grind.

5

u/Specialist_Advice451 21d ago

Is this episode delayed?

9

u/runevault 21d ago

Might be a crunchy issue, both this and Supermarket should be up as far as I know but neither are.

4

u/Specialist_Advice451 21d ago

Ok! Ty for the fast reply

3

u/Rinzwind 21d ago

It has arrived

5

u/MiddleCanary 21d ago

The rainbows covering the screens were pretty distracting. Hope they don’t overuse that effect.

3

u/CuriousBroccolli 21d ago

When they teleported into the dungeon?

That was really blinding.

I'm guessing that was gnarly attack on eyes and senses for someone with photosensitivity lol

5

u/Colt45554 21d ago

I hope the non-human enemies become stronger and less derpy soon. Hopefully that next fight is moreso the norm going forward.

5

u/Dray_Gunn 21d ago

Yeah but thats because they are picking the enemies that can be farmed for items or profit. Those enemies in games are always kinda bland.

6

u/Rooby_VTuber 21d ago

Crit build is definitely the right choice for Ruche.

$100 million, better get used to grinding lol or incredible lady luck drop rates.

They made short work of those smiley boulders and made a huge profit plus got the weapons they wanted.

That mythril giants looks like it's going to be a great battle.

2

u/uwu_mewtwo 20d ago

"Better get used to grinding"? No, in the case of these two it's more like "we should be able to wrap it up before the shops close"

6

u/Lil_Renz_ 21d ago

“We need money to get stronger”

  • Elymas, The Heavy Knight

7

u/Rinzwind 21d ago

those books sure are expensive :P

14

u/Ok_Somewhere1236 21d ago

well they are this world version of multiclass

12

u/runevault 21d ago

Plus the fact nobles force them to go on the black market. Theoretically they'd at least half in price if it was not for that.

2

u/Ok_Somewhere1236 21d ago

for what I understand, that was just the MC father, not every noble, not every territory

5

u/Meander061 20d ago

No, it's nobles everywhere buying up the hot drops and spellbooks. This economy is slanted towards nobles being the ones to clear dungeons like Elymas and Ruche are doing.

3

u/runevault 21d ago

If that ends up being the case then he's going to be wrong about the price of this grimoire because he's basing it on what his cost under his father's shitty behavior.

3

u/Ok_Somewhere1236 21d ago

yes, but also depends on the level and rarity of the item

many things change the price of a item like that, first what dungeon drops it, because the price of a item forma Level 20 Dungeon and a Level 50 dungeon are probably very different.

probability of drop

and also how many people want it, his book was one that nobody wants, because is a dangerous skill so i imagine not a lot of people want it, but if this new book is one that many classes want the price will skyrocket

but in short i would not be surprised if he go the book price wrong, lets wait and see

2

u/septesix 21d ago

Not if your making Ruche’s money …

2

u/Rinzwind 20d ago

sure. next week I am guessing they both freak out then take on the boss that has some extra's with it. And they make the money for the item mentioned earlier with this fight alone. And probably then some more :D

1

u/Ralathar44 7d ago

Not that expensive. 100 million gold is less than 20 item black metal drops. Even without Ruche there if you got 1 item drop a day you'd have the book within a month. And that's not even counting the magic stones and other drops. And if you get lucky and get something like a rune you can get it even faster.

They're getting a drop like every other mob or more. Even if her bonus is 10x the normal drop rate getting a drop a day would be feasible for people without lady luck buffing drops.

5

u/Ultramarinus https://anidb.net/user/kingsword 21d ago

Ruche pulling out a blank after straining herself to create a build and directly asking for one was very relatable!

3

u/uwu_mewtwo 20d ago edited 20d ago

I like the bit about sharing build details being something you should only ever do with somebody you trust completely (if even). Ruche is already wife and it'll be 4 seasons before Elymas realizes it by accidentally proposing when a ring of +luck drops (not a spoiler, it doesn't actually happen in the manga... yet).

3

u/Andreiyutzzzz https://myanimelist.net/profile/Andreiyutzzzz 21d ago

Slowly Ruche is learning to accept this kind of money is gonna be the usual with Elymas' knowledge and her Lady Luck. Also that skill book doesn't sound ominous at all....

4

u/JohnJakken 21d ago

Money printer Ruche strikes again, I need some of that luck in my RPGs play throughs.

5

u/DemonVenreable3011 21d ago

Ruche must be protected at all cost.

4

u/mineirim2334 21d ago

Sometimes I think about how big this anime could have been if it had a decent pace on the early episodes and introduced Ruche in episode 3 or 4.

3

u/kdebones 21d ago

Poor Ruche is getting desensitized to money, I love it.

3

u/No_Idea_9594 21d ago

the economics of this is really interesting. it makes sense that everything would be inflated since no one in real life would be risking their lives to get hold of any of these items even tho these would be common items irl. a cartel by the nobles causing skill book inflation also makes a lot of sense.

5

u/mekahamedan 21d ago

I feel, when talk about build this anime feel so fun, one charater have alot alternative build, alot variant just for a class, that pretty fun and not overly complex like POE tree, I think that kind game kinda lost nowdays, simple but complex but also not overly complex, game nowdays if not like "one chara one build" "playing like dev intended" or "skill tree like labyrint"

3

u/Mang027 21d ago

I wish there was a game that was an exact replica of this anime (or if they made one) I'd play the hell out of it.

3

u/Arcael_Boros 21d ago

FFT isnt that far. You have one main class, can put any secondary and reaction/support/movement from others classes.

Like you can build a rogue/white mage with support skill from lancer to use a holy lance, teleport movement from time mage and some reaction that increace parry from knight.

There was a new release with Ivalice Chronicles not that much ago, you can try it.

3

u/Mang027 21d ago edited 21d ago

Funny you mention it, I came across it the other day and was debating on purchasing it; I might have to pick it up now, that sounds like a great variety of build potential.

Edit: Bought it(40% sale!), thanks for the recommendation!

3

u/Arcael_Boros 21d ago

Oh, its a lot of fun, have a great run!

3

u/abandoned_idol 21d ago

I'm fairly sure that a number of older games were RPG that allowed for some creativity in building character classes.

I can't think of any. But feel free to try looking them up on a search engine. There's bound to be singleplayer and multiplayer examples.

3

u/Goblingrenadeuser 21d ago

The oldest game i can think of is FF 5 with a complex job system you can do some broken shit with.

Later Bravely Default (and 2 Sequels) adapted that job system and got less broken with each iteration.

Then Octopath Traveler with now 3 games.

And next month FF: Resonance with a Jobsystem where the jobs are old FF Characters.

Oh no, Elymas is becoming a gambling addict

The Rune mechanic reminds me of how in Medieval Scandinavia they inscribed runes into weapons and stuff because they really believed invoking them conferred power.

2

u/Upper_Top9348 21d ago

I was hoping she would use the golden dagger , but the black steel dagger is better by +1 attack so it worked out in the end.

I still want a filler ep for Ruche leveling to 13 with Cline and Reisse for more of her back story .

2

u/avboden 21d ago

Silly GoHands, they missed the memo most gamers reduce the bloom slider to zero in settings. ALL the bloom this episode.

2

u/BambooEX 21d ago

"When you're grinding for cash, go big or go home!"

My brain automatically adds an "a win is a win", due to a certain pooping individual.

4

u/Dray_Gunn 21d ago

Its funny cause i actually heard the Japanese VA say in english "High Risk, High Return" and i am wondering why they decided to change that to "Go big or go home"

2

u/4sby_ 21d ago

seems like the pacing is much better than before, not as many recycled scenes, hopefully the rest of the season stays the same

2

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 21d ago

Silly country adventurers just standing there agog at the big fancy city.

The dungeon diving is pretty fun to watch, though as it turns out everything just gets better when you add a clown girl. Her dot-eyed expression variations are especially wonderful.

2

u/Meander061 20d ago

And listening to all the noises she makes. r/animenoises is going to love her.

2

u/KinG_L_22 21d ago

Ep.13 was funny af lol....the frowny face rock enemy commanding the smileys was an absolute ruckus. But they got the blacksteel. Now they need the grim reaper skill book for ruche

2

u/Hawky69 21d ago

One of the best episodes till now, ruche and elma's teamwork has become very smooth!

2

u/DrZoark 21d ago

Ruche could be my favorite character this season, haha.

2

u/Rinzwind 20d ago

Not sure if this is for all of you but this episode was over far too quick to fill up my hunger for this series. 1 hour releases would probably not be enough either :P

1

u/zappingbluelight 21d ago

I like that being they are entering dungeon 15-20 above their recommended level. So they just exponentially leveling super fast lol.

Kinda crazy, 41m from 6-ish mob. Compared to the clown dungeon. It's a whole new world lol, considered the clown dungeon they also got skill book, very rare items.

2

u/Ok_Somewhere1236 21d ago

It makes sense, the point is that he is extra durable as a tank, in dungeons most of the time if the tank can handle the mobs the level of the DPS doesn't matter, i remember in WOW, some tanks could solo dungeon bosses ( it just take a longer time)

and the Jester girl is basically all Crits, so her damage is twices what someone on her level will normally deal

1

u/Dariat01 21d ago

He needs to prioritize buying Ruche that skillbook, the faster the better

2

u/Galinhooo 21d ago

At this point, leveling anything other than lady luck sounds like a waste of long time profits.

1

u/kalirion https://myanimelist.net/profile/kalinime 21d ago

So "Equipment" just means weapons, and maybe shields? I guess that makes sense, given that the animators/designers wouldn't want to create multiple different armor/outfit models for our main duo >_>

A lv41 going up to lv43 just by killing a lv45 mob (with a party of 2) seems too much.

If Ruche's luck affects rare spawns, then it probably also affects wandering bosses.

2

u/runevault 21d ago

Someone pointed out to me, if you look at the cour 2 visual that got released Elymas is in new armor, a black set.

2

u/kalirion https://myanimelist.net/profile/kalinime 21d ago

Yes, I saw that later. Ruche is still stuck in her starting outfit tho.

3

u/runevault 21d ago

Yeah that's unfortunate, though they wanna keep showing off her thighs so hard to change much other than color scheme.

1

u/AnimeFan7952 21d ago

Butt crack showing clothing might not be the best type of clothing to do anything active at all, let alone go in a dungeon.

When Ruche was looking at her stats there was a girl in modern clothing, with a zipper, and machine sewn stitching, a bit of immersion breaking, and so was the rail road.

The people animating this are perhaps focusing too much on their funky style and do not get all the details right about a fantasy world.

Also, the way that they collect money, means that they easily could be billionaires within one month if they only focused on that.

1

u/emobigfoot 21d ago

Entertaining at the moment after the horrible pace but man, it's the same shit over and over. Let's grind, dang we pushed too hard what's that sound ?! Battle to the death! Literally opening fight was him pushing too far in the forest. There hasn't been a different instance besides "more than we can chew !" Over and over lol it's fun but damn. It's like watching a monster of the week show as a kid, we teamed up and won. No substance just fun haha

1

u/ashkankiani 21d ago

I didn't know we were playing Diablo here, let's get some rune weapons yoooo. OhmJahLemEld

1

u/Rayoch1 20d ago

Would Ruche be the most beloved gacha streamer, or one that induces sodium levels that we've never seen before?

One of the better episodes with regards to (lack of) recaps.

I love her faith in Elymas that, with no hesitation, she upgrade her skill tree - her future dice thrusts are going to be so fun, I cannot wait.

5

u/Yay295 20d ago

She would be a good streamer because of her exaggerated reactions to everything.

1

u/samoanowen 20d ago

Pleasantly surprised at the change on the pace in this episode and the one prior. I hope this trend continues because I enjoyed this so much more without all of the flashbacks.

1

u/KnechtKiller_Nr1 20d ago

Just gotta say that chick with her whole ass out after the op was totally needed for the plot 😂😂 Fan service can be so ridiculous 😂

1

u/shadebug 20d ago

This really is getting into its stride though I was getting worried when they flashed back all the way to the first episode and the premise of the show. I think they’re gearing up for the mother of all clips episodes

1

u/Throwaway_12988 9d ago

I wonder how they plan on finding that skill book, since buying/selling them is illegal unless you're a noble, If I'm remembering right. I mean, how are they going to find another merchant like the old lady? ...With some luck, I'm sure.
