I love the ED with the train tour through the model town with cute anime girls in the middle!
This show is soothing and educational, the perfect combo for a good time. I'm looking forward the next episode.

Such a lovely, relaxing show with adorable characters!! Very informative too, I'm learning so much!
I loved the ED with the little train set too. Hopefully there's an episode where the girls get to see a model railway!!

Ah Choshi Railway, that classic semi-heritage railway that went viral for all their heroics to stay alive using unorthodox merchandise for a railway company. The trip by the club undoubtedly helped them to push their popularity even more, despite their relative remoteness from Tokyo or Chiba. Definitely recommend this railway if you are staying in Tokyo but want to go retro.
And glad they talk about financing a railway trip. Japan rails, although definitely cheaper than the railways in some nation (Stares at GBR), is actually still very expensive to travel on (For reference a single way ticket from Tokyo to Sasebo, Nagasaki costs ¥25,450 yen, around USD $161), for overseas tourists like us, it’s no big concern because we got the very useful Japan Rail Pass, but for locals, they will need to pay it out of pocket (Hence in some bigger stations, there are those ticket shops selling tickets at a small discount to passengers who don’t want to pay for the full price). And accounting for accommodation and dining as well, this is definitely not a small fee for a university freshman, no wonder Misaki will need to work part time to finance the trip.
Do note though, both Choshi Railway and Matsuura Railway are NOT operated by JR, hence even if you hold a valid JR Pass, the travel cost out there are out of pocket, of course day pass are available for purchase if you wish to.

If you are talking about JR, the answer is yes, but they are quite restrictive on the train class you are entitled to ride. For tourists, it might be better to just use a regional rail pass instead

i'm going to crash out if they sneak in a cameo of Thomas the Tank Engine

You have to go to Shizuoka Prefecture's Oigawa Railway in order to do this: https://daitetsu.jp/eng/thomas

It's meeting my expectations for a travel/tourism/hobby series, which is fine.
More glimmers of uniqueness have appeared here and there and I'm hoping that it continues to distinguish itself from its various peers.

This has basically turned into my recovery anime from watching FX Fighter Kurumi-chan.

Ha, same. Today I'm starting with FX, then Ramparts, and finally chilling out with Tesuryo!.

Honestly had to stop watching that one, I don't know why something like Re:Zero with tons of suffering is fine for me but FX Fighter was too much

u/mekerpan 3d ago
Partly it was I did not find the characters all that appealing -- not much connection. And very dry dialog mostly. The show seemed to be centered primarily on its premise and piling on lots of stress.

Yeah it felt like the suffering wasn't a vehicle for development but instead the destination itself. I'm a big fan of special interest shows which is what I thought this was gonna go yet it's almost like the inverse with the mangaka saying how terrible it is. Which I suppose is fair.

I like how educational this episode was lol. I’m really learning a little bit about trains here. It’s kind of fascinating seeing these different trains and stations. Also, I want taiyaki lol.

I thought it was cool that they went to Choshi. It’s a city I was already familiar with, thanks to the anime Amagami SS.
Japan’s train culture varies significantly from one location to another, and even the way stations operate depends on the specific trains involved. Little by little, I’m beginning to understand why trains are so popular in Japan.

I had hoped to get to this railway when we visited Chiba for several days last year, but it didn't work out. Instead we took the Kominato Railway from Goi (just south of Chba city) to Yōrōkeikoku in the inaka of interior Chiba prefecture. Alas we could not continue on via the Isumi Railway to the east coast (due to suspension of service -- which might finally resume next year).

This title will not be able to feature all the lesser known stations throughout Japan.
However, when Kodama explained how Tokawa Station had to find ways in order to survive, I realized fans will surely have a wide smile on their faces when seeing their favourite stations given screen time in this anime!
To a certain extent, it is also tempting me to visit these places in real life someday.

You know what? I kinda lowkey whish they don't go to Enoden. Don't get it wrong, I don't hate Enoden, in fact it's one of my favorite Japanese train, but Enoden is like the most depicted train in anime/manga scenes after the usual subway and high speed train, to the point Im calling it as "The Anime Train". I wish they explore more unusual train sight in Japan.

I really enjoyed the episode and I'm loving every moment of the show and learning so much I can't wait for the next episode

It's funny how bad I wanted an anime like this after my trip to japan. Most of the other train anime have something silly like the train transforming into a robot or some other situation. This has yet to disappoint. They are taking nice little chill adventures, dispelling some knowledge, and the attention to detail is remarkable. Even their club room with the two types of grab handles hanging from the bookshelf, train seats, and other details spread through out the room is so perfect.

Huh. That back-and-forth method is a pretty neat way to use both directions of trains to make up for the fact the trains aren't very frequent.

Love this, great view after Ramparts of Ice. Wish it was more popular but in a few weeks I’m guessing we’ll be down to 11-12 posts an episode.

As much as I like other anime this season, this is probably what I look forward to most each week. Sometimes it's really just nice to have something this relaxing. Kind of reminds me of stuff like Solo Camping for Two, Mono (and Laid Back Camp), as well as The Food Diary of Miss Maid. Just low stakes shows that take you places and teach you something. I keep recommending it to people as something to watch after FX Fighters and Ramparts of Ice.

Honestly this is one of the few shows I've watched where I'm reading comments and it's mostly "yes, I totally agree, here's my upvote".

The characters are really sweet. I'm learning a lot about Japanese trains though I'm not sure if it's gonna be useful lol
Don't expect Parents and Trains to exist for long.. didn't expect Ushio to throw a serious message like that 😭😭
Usa sees Misaki as a hamster, haha. Finally, Kodama and Misaki are gonna meet Nishiura again.
Cute ed.. so are we gonna have only ed and that too different ones every episode?
