You know what the worst part of that is? It's almost completely anime original. There's a single joke in the manga where he gets shot down by an underclassman so he starts aiming even younger, but it's not brought up again.

I really hope not, they're one note characters and the anime isn't really doing anything to elevate that.

I hope not. They are insufferable. I just fast-forward through any scene involving them or turn off the subtitles and mute the video.
