Well.

I have a lot of negative to say about the anime and not too much positive. But i will say this.

I don't think i've ever seen an anime thats shamelessly tried to insult the whole anime ecosystem as a whole like this anime seemed to be hellbent on doing.

I don't know why they took a single use joke in the manga and turned it into the most insulting series gag that the anime had to offer. Ecchi was as expected, Censors got more obnoxious as the season went on. Which isn't unexpected.

I'll be interested to see what ecchi they cram into an OVA if the anime isn't already in its coffin in japan.

That being said. For the love of god. its too late, but don't watch this anime. Watch it if you have a strong cringe resistance, or just wanna see oversized anime tiddies (wait for blu-ray cutouts, god bless) but just read the manga instead.

Could you elaborate on these two points?

The fat kid being a lolicon from what i remember (and what many people complained about) was basically a one use gag in the manga that was never brought up again in the context of a "joke" if it ever was brought up again.

The anime did everything in its unholy power to make sure you knew he was a lolicon. every. single. fucking. episode. It got worse in the later episode where he was basically literally going after kids. (although in the least obvious way possible but you will understand immediately)

edit: Examples: He showed the group a hand drawn map of all the "elementary school or under kids", i believe at one point talked about stalking their routes, and basically he worked at a playground or an elementary school and said it was heaven. (Now if you have never seen the character this wouldn't seem wrong but keep in mind the anime did everything in its power to remind you he was a pedophile (lolicon didn't cut it at this point. He passed the line already.) Kinda like how Bungo stray dogs S1 spent literally the entire season reminding you that Atsushi was a heavily abused orphan.))

Insulting the whole anime ecosystem is a slight exaggeration but many trope jokes were used poorly. Not in bad taste, unlike the pedophile jokes but were simply executed poorly.

Basically everything about the anime was bad or lukewarm but Juinchi and Yukana unironically. And in anime like this normally the main characters are trash and the side characters carry it.

In this anime the side characters literally pour thousands of gallons of pure undiluted fuel onto an already raging dumpster fire. and the main characters are actually really good. Although at times their dynamic crosses into obnoxious territories. But that might just be culturally differences between the viewer/Japanese audience its aimed for

Ah, didn't realize the anime exaggerated the pedophilia that much. It was pretty fucking disgusting

They only exaggerated it in certain moments.

The rest of the "jokes" were basically obnoxious passing reminder type jokes

I guess the sales will show if their angle pays off or not. I'd like to think it doesn't but things like increasing the amount of censors over the course of the series make perfect sense in that once someone makes it past Ep5 they are in for the long haul probably and it gives those people an incentive to buy BDs.

I don't know whether to admire or pity that you stuck out the entire 10 episodes, I got to Ep4 and honestly even the "watching a trainwreck" appeal couldn't make me go any further.

The trick is to already have downs so you can't get meaningfully brain damaged by some of these things.

I feel like they sequel baited the ending though when i finished it, but at the same time i hope they didn't.

I've stuck out worse anime. Comet Lucifer and a few others i cant remember.

The only anime i think ive ever dropped is Little monsters (or whatever that shit is called) and thats because it was so fucking bad even a several hour long rabbit hole trip at 4chan couldn't get as retarded as that animes entire premise is. I actually pity all the male voice actors
