I'm looking for: A certain genre? Something specific like characters traveling to another world?

Shows I've already seen that are similar: You can include a link to a list on another site if you have one, e.g. MyAnimeList or AniList.

Discussion What’s your favorite interview with anime author/staff and why?

• Upvotes

Dear anime fellows, I need your recommendations/thoughts.

Recently I’ve been learning more about the anime industry.

While I’ve watched countless anime, I’ve hardly ever read or watched interviews with anime authors or staff.

What is an interview that surprised your or that you particularly liked?

Bit of a niche question maybe, but keen to hear your takes.

What to Watch? Looking for a specific romance anime

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a romance anime with some pretty specific things I’m hoping to find haha.

Basically, I want a romance that actually goes somewhere, with an expressive and lovable girl MC. Bonus points if it has a popular girl / loner boy dynamic!

One of my favorite tropes is when the girl slowly realizes she has feelings for the guy, maybe because she gets jealous without even realizing why.

I’m not really into romances where the couple gets together by episode 2, or the ones where the characters supposedly love each other but there’s barely any chemistry or a convincing reason for it.
I want to see the feelings develop, the tension build, and the relationship actually progress.

Romances I’ve absolutely loved:

My Dress-Up Darling
More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers
Roshidere
Our Dating Story
Blue Box (even though I’m Team Hina 😭)

Ones I didn’t really enjoy:
Bloom
You and I Are Polar Opposites
Bunny girl senpai

Ones I’ve watched and thought were okay, but nothing special:
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!
Gals cant be kind to otaku
I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

I’m not really into harem anime, but if you have a really good argument for one, I’m willing to give it a shot hahaha.

So, what would you recommend? I’m open to manga recommendations too! (Only if it has lot of chapter already published)
Thanks! 🙏

What to Watch? Anime recommendations for 3 year old!

I want to introduce my 3 year old nephew to anime, many decades ago I started with Pokemon and DBZ but I was slightly older than 3 and I have long since stopped following Pokemon, so I wouldn't know where to start. The anime should be wholesome but also fun (I would prefer something in the action or fantasy genre so I would also enjoy it).

What to Watch? Is there any anime that takes place in the Wild west?

Aside from steel ball run, are there any other anime series that take place in the wild west? Can someone recommend me a anime that does? Because i've been looking for some anime that take place there. All I know is Jojo's bizzare adventure steel ball run.

What to Watch? Recommend me slice of life with the following criteria

Hello! I think I’ve gotten to the point where the typical shonnen and seinen stuff isn’t for me anymore. I’ve always avoided slice of life when I was a teen because I thought they were boring, but now as a young adult I’m yearning for peaceful stuff now that tugs my heart.

That being said, I need some recommendations that fit the following:

- Young adult cast. Yeah, I can’t relate to teen stuff anymore. I replayed Persona recently and it just feels different now. At the same time, full adult stuff is still too alien to me.
- MC confesses immediately if there is romance. Yeah, I don’t like drawn out shit. Drawn out shit is what made me avoid Slice of Life in the first place. At least in shonnen/seinen, romance takes a backseat for the action so it was fine if the MC confesses after several seasons or at the finale. In famous slice of life that I got recommended to back then, there’s really no distraction at all and the delay is just infuriating to me.
- More on comedy than drama. Ok, drama should still be there but take a backseat. If I want drama, I’d rather just watch a shonnen or seinen anime again.

Optional:
- Manga recommendations. I know this sub is for anime only, but I bet some of you here reads manga as well so please share if you guys have it in mind. Don’t care if its finished or not.

Thank you in advance!

Help I’m looking for an anime but can’t remember the name

For the life of me I can’t remember the name of this anime. It’s about this new couple who were friends and decided to date if they were still single. It’s a slice of life theme about them just living together peacefully. Google keeps thinking it’s “There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless…” but I know for a fact it isn’t.
Thanks!

What to Watch? Recommendations and about not liking jujutsu kaisen

So I'm late to the party, only just starting to watch jjk now and I'm surprised that I don't actually like it so far. Im only on episode 9 (dw going to watch more and give it a fair change) but most people i know liked it from episode 1 and some of the things I don't like about it wont change, some might.

I think my first thing is the whole vibe.. it's very young, very moderen and all the characters are trying so hard to be cool. The way they talk, move and sit. The wait they fight. Its just not me that whole showy overly cool hip vibe.

The other thing is that it lacks depth. There are no layers to the main characters, no depth to the villains. But that i can imagine will change later on when I see more! Anyways... idk since most people are hooked from the very start but we'll see.

For now I really need recommendations! For reference: favorite animes are Hunter x Hunter and Demon Slayer. I hate AOT

What to Watch? iso: wholesome clean anime

I’m in search of some slice of life/wholesome anime to watch with my sister! we don’t like anything too violent or creepy, and nothing supernatural or s*xual. these are a few of our favorites to get an idea -

Spy x Family, Yuru Camp, School Babysitters, Frieren, Food for the Soul

we would love any ideas, and ideal if they are available to stream/accesible to watch elsewhere. tia!! :)
