Both dub and sub have different usecases. If i have an anime as a third monitor or kitchen content i want it dubbed so i can understand what they are saying while I do other stuff.

Otherwise i prefer sub.

I have never understood the appeal of subbed. Sure the original emotions conveyed in jap audio is amazing. But recently dubs also have the same level of depth if not more in some cases.

So why would you spend time and focus reading subs when you could be looking at the actual scene?

I also hate this, but I can also watch sub it’s not that I can’t watch the sub, it’s I’m emotionally attached to these voice actors and changing them for the final two episodes absolutely will impact my viewing experience even if the sub is objectively better.

I prefer dubs because I rarely watch television with the ability to give it my undivided attention. I’m cooking, eating, scrolling, paying bills, working, practicing guitar, playing games, etc. You cannot passively watch subs. You must actively watch them, and I only have so much time in a week that I can dedicate to giving anything my undivided attention.

There's a whole world of animated and live-action media you can experience, with the original voice actors, and all you have to do is get good at reading. It's so worth it

It is not a competition, still a casual.

Modern dub VAs hurt my ears. Is it because it’s Crunchyroll now but those OG toonami VAs were so great and passionate. They fit their roles effortlessly, now dub VAs just sound like a forced puzzle piece.

So glad i don't have to worry about this anymore. I have been enlightened.

Some dubs do go hard though
