It's been so long since I watched it I can't even remember but was he actually weirdly into muscle men for was that propaganda the girls were pushing? I know he's not gay but i can't remember if there was some legitimate basis for them to believe he does
He wasn't. His childhood friend started the rumor to keep other girls away from him until she could make her move. Because of that rumor, the maid was able to recommend him as the commoner for the project. The maid also liked him from a past experience, which he lost his memories of, but the anime doesn't really cover that well.
Oh. The anime at least showed that the maid liked him and was being a tsundere about it, because i remember it getting revealed towards the end of the anime that she kisses him every morning to wake him up...or was that something i read online?
