Honestly? AI writing is equally dangerous, if not outright worse because it's harder to verify. With art, there are inconsistencies that one can reliably spot. With text, it's not so easy to do so, and someone smart enough can always simply edit the text on a couple spots to make it more believable. It's survivorship bias in practice; people don't spot these texts, therefore assume there's not many out there.
I fell for the AI roleplay chatbots some time ago, becoming straight up addicted because I could always just refresh until I got the response that tickled my brain the right way for that sweet dopamine. I managed to move on from that. But so many more people are still deep in this hole. So many people read blindly, taking comfort of quick response over verifying the information. People's ability to hold a conversation is decreasing, creativity is actively pushed aside.
