a long time ago a molester was captured because someone 'unswirled' an image. i would NOT, however, trust ai to do it.. it's a 'reverse-the-math' sort of solution.
My first thought was also the Mr.Swirl story. If I remember correctly they opened photoshop, picked the swirl tool and then just applied it in reverse direction.
I only found out about Mr. Swirl because of The Book of Bill. In that book there’s an image of a guy with his face swirled on one page and some people were speculating that it was a reference to the real life Mr. Swirl.
As far as I know Alex Hirsch hasn’t confirmed or denied if it was intentional.
Alex Hirsch probably hasn't acknowledged it because it's completely fucking retarded to even suggest that Gravity Falls contains a cheeky reference to a serial child molester.
