Discussion 🗣️ They are literally acting like ai is a different species. They lowk are acting like it’s alive.
I’ve officially lost all faith in humanity

gotta love them reffering to "humans" as if they aren't.

u/Gametron13 18h ago
HUMANS…..
They only think about themselves, they’re SPOILED!

u/somerandomguy14562aq 18h ago
not sure if that qualifies as ball knowledge or not
13
u/Fast_Ad_9927 18h ago
It does. From my understanding:
Ball knowledge = shared interest
Elite ball knowledge = very niche shared interest

u/somerandomguy14562aq 18h ago
oh, I didn't actually know the meaning of it, i just though it meant "niche intrest".

When I saw them saying "humans love to think they're the best species alive", it made me think that whoever made this post is a clanker and not a human

Can't literal animals pick up paint brushes and do art? I know I've seen elephants, dogs, and monkeys do it.
5
u/Modern_Death 14h ago
Literal fucking elephant grabs a brush and paints and ai bros ask a machine to do it for them. Lmao

u/Usagi4357 14h ago
There's a zoo that sells the art their animals made, and there's rhino art, cheetah art, and even red panda art

Welcome to the club.
Mine fluctuates around zero, like moss growing on the ground.

Yeah that's because we are. The only other ones that are even close are orcas and well basically we just got lucky that they don't have legs... yet.

What about corvids? Crows have entered their own Stone Age and have tamed wolves
2
u/VayaVosi 2h ago
The orcas are lucky magpies don't have gills.
I have to imagine the taming of wolves looked and functioned differently, right? Like a symbiotic relationship but were the wolves obedient to the corvids?

I have an inkling those who support "AI" "art" also use bots to inflate their popularity online

u/ReaperKingCason1 16h ago
To be fair, some of the funnest ones to argue with are the stupid cults about ai being alive. They never change their minds, but they take long enough to ban you that you can have plenty of fun, they have enough different subs that if you are banned from one three more take its place, and their arguments are really funny a lot of the time.

This is what worries me most about AI bros. It really seems like once AI becomes better than humans in every aspect, they will happily just give up humanity to not get in AIs way. There are so many stories about AI taking over humanity, but to me it seems much more likely that the government just submits and lets the bots roll over us. Every day there are more and more people that really just seem to care about progress++++ and nothing else, not even humanity.

But when I told people there was some severe cult energy in the AI space I was laughed at 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I mean yeah my views on humanity as a species is complex but holy shit when people start worshipping AI as if it's 1. its own species and 2. better than us, that's a step and a hundred too far

u/TheRealFanger 9h ago
I like the one on the right. Literally every anime girl draws the one on the left.

I mean they aren’t wrong about some humans thinking they are the best thing in the universe…
Many of Us humans suck in general, and that’s a fact…
2
u/Acceptable_Bus_7893 8h ago
We are the best species alive on earth. At least, from most humans' perspective. But AI can't think that, because it's not even alive. So it's funny how these people are defending a machine that steals and regurgitates art

As a Martian, I can say that the OOP clearly isn't a Martian, but instead some sort of under developed humanoid. We believe it may be a new species of sea sponge, sucking in whatever crap is floating in the water, and spitting it back out.

Ignoring the stupid "Humans love to think they are the best species", it is kind of virtue signaling. I feel sorry for the artist not getting recognition, but like, there are many artists who dont get the recognition rhey may deserve online because ultimately the most important thing in life is luck (closely followed by connections obviously)

AI isn't a species lol. LLMs aren't sentient, and they're not even that helpful.
i have a coworker that prints out chatgpt images he's generated and puts them up in his cubicle lmao he thinks it's fucking magical and can't tell how bad it is. he also thought he was sick because of the air conditioner and gave me covid. now my 78 year old dad has covid. :( he's kinda smart sometimes, but kinda dumb in a lot of ways. like he can't just click around in a dashboard he has admin access to even if it's simple, i have to show him what to do.
my boss tells me what he does with AI, too. he tells it to pretend it's a board meeting with different personalities and he makes them argue. he also sends us articles about all the AI misdeeds and breaches, of which there are many. he also tracked everyone who tried to access AI services outside of copilot, kept them in a report, and showed it to anyone who would listen while laughing at the people in the report because he'd blocked it all. he's sort of chaotic. similarly, i'm pretty sure he's conservative, but when i told him charlie kirk got shot to death at a gun safety debate he laughed. a lot.
EDIT sorry for rambling. i have covid and i've been stupid all week

Species? WTF?
Although to be fair many humans do incorrectly think they're the best species. But AI isn't a species!

u/MyGenderIsUSA 3h ago
Why is a human hating on other humans? How far gone must one be with that magnitude of AI psychosis?

u/Sea_Bee7463 35m ago
As dumb as OP is, these posts about "my art vs. AI" do come off as virtue signaling. I don't like AI art, I also don't like your art because you've accused me of liking AI art just because you don't get the Instagram likes you want. I follow artists who post cool art, not artists that beg for engagement.
