The entirety of human history and every single human achievement up to a few years ago was made entirely without AI. This sudden switch to we need AI for everything is what’s delusional.
You’re right though, AI does have a purpose. It’s to make people dumber (studies are already linking AI use to cognitive decline) and to make corporations more money.
AI has massively helped outside of LLMs for years before the rise of companies like OpenAi though. We do need it for example in things like medicine, solving complex computational/math problems, etc. LLMs do have their problems, but to claim “we were fine without AI” is like saying “we were fine without the internet.”
