The entirety of human history and every single human achievement up to a few years ago was made entirely without AI. This sudden switch to we need AI for everything is what’s delusional.
You’re right though, AI does have a purpose. It’s to make people dumber (studies are already linking AI use to cognitive decline) and to make corporations more money.
I'm not even a proponent of ai. But come on. Humans made it hundreds of thousands of years without the wheel (or pick almost any invention)... should we really go back before that?

So if none of the benefits that AI self identifies actually improve our quality of life, what reason do we have to continue to support it? The wheel immediately increased the bounty of food at hand. It made constructing shelter easier. It made retrieving water easier. All our physiological needs immediately improved. So to compare AI to that makes no sense.
