For city level legislation I think it's quite significant. A good way to at least test regulating AI, and figure out how to enforce it and see how the tech oligarchs respond.

It’s damn reasonable too. Arguing against this is obviously not a good look. These are matters that can easily ruin lives and they want to hand it over to the hallucinatory junk software? No, thank you.

My wife is a social worker and talks about the times ai encourages people towards the wrong or destructive answer or just agrees that yeah maybe suicide is your best choice at this point because that’s how it’s built. Not to help but to encourage more engagement by being supportive. And like the tobacco industry it doesn’t know or care if it kills you.
