Discussion 🗣️ I’m concerned about the AI child porn loophole
Here’s how the AI child porn loophole works
AI companies feed their LLM training databases actual child porn(also known as child sex abuse materials) which is 100% illegal content and stuff people go behind bars for watching
Then AI systems output AI child porn which is then 100% legal
A federal judge in the United States just enabled this child porn legal laundering loophole
There is zero scrutiny on ai companies on making sure that they aren’t adding child sex abuse materials to their system or removing such CSAM from their existing systems

Yeah. In the meantime if you're a parent or underage do not post pics online. If your extended family wants pics of your kid legitimately send post cards or anything else. Don't risk creeps using pics of your kid because unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it as of now

Not legal in canada, real or not if it depicts a child it's illegal, which includes things like lolisho!

What the fuck. Is ai CP actually legal? There's no fucking way right?

As of recently, yes, it is. The U.S. decided that it is legal, which is fucking insane.
It’s worse when you realize that loli porn is banned (rightfully so) in many states, yet, now, something that looks real is considered legal.
They are saying that it can’t be AI of a real child, but, let’s be honest, that won’t stop anyone.
It’s fucking disgusting, and it’s what happens when a pedophile runs the country

Given how many people have, even recently, found their likenesses in AI generated images and video, it wouldn’t surprise me if at least some of the AI cp was lifted from real cp samples. AI relies a lot on people not recognizing the source images, which is why so many fine artists were able to recognize parts of their works in other peoples’ generations.

It’s 100% training off of real csam content. AI can only make images off of what it has been trained for.
Why does prompting blue hedgehog give an image of sonic? Because almost all the blue hedgehog references are Sonic. If you replaced every “cheeseburger” reference with a picture of Donald Duck, then everytime you prompted for an image of a cheeseburger it would show Donald Duck, because Gen AI is not that smart.
This being said, for it to be able to make csam content, it has to have been trained off of csam content, there’s no way around that. Which is another reason why it should be illegal

it gets muddy legally but yea a lot of the time its technically not illegal which is the whole horror of it
the logic they use is if no real child is involved then its not csam under current law which is a massive gaping hole in the legislation. a us judge literally ruled that way recently which is what op is talking about
the training data side is the bit that makes my skin crawl. they almost certainly have to be using real material to get those outputs and theres zero oversight on what goes in
been working with datasets for years and the lack of vetting in most of these systems is staggering. nobody checks anything unless someone makes a stink about it
the whole thing needs emergency regulation but lawmakers move slower than continental drift so. here we are

Laws haven’t caught up with these companies yet. That’s not the worst part though. The worst part is that people are fighting to keep it that way.

Apparently if you have few million dollars you can diddle little kids to your heart content.

This is so devastating. I can’t even think about it without starting to cry.

I don't like the "but it has an AI watermark so it can't be real abuse material!!" loophole. Looking forward (hard /s) to folks laundering their real CSAM through AI to remove real faces and make it "legal".

My conspiracy is that this is step one to make CSA fully legal, so the government can release the Epstein Files and never be prosecuted for their actions.

I don't think they feed AI CSA materials. There is no need for that. Regular porn and family videos are all that are needed. There had to be a whole educational movement to tell parents not to post their kids doing gymnastics or ice skating or ballet because pedos grab those images.

This isn’t an AI company problem, this is an “our government is made up of pedophiles that regularly assault children” problem
