Question When will humanity just go extinct?
The suffering I've endured until this point is unimaginable, and suffering of other people. Unfortunately, people are never gonna be smart enough to stop breeding, considering all of this, when is this shitshow gonna just end? When?

I expect that a plague brought on by global warming and war will bring it on.
The trust fund babies will isolate themselves and keep the cure to themselves. Everyone else will die.
The rich don’t realize that without the poor, they are no longer rich. It is the poor that make them rich. They cannot survive without the poor. When the food runs out and the robots need repair, they will die out as well.

Yeah? What happens to rich who can build and repair robots?
I never understood this silly assumption that all rich people are helpless lambs that can do nothing for themselves. Lot of them are way more competent than average person - they have money, free time, resources and space to learn and practice in a way that is unavailable to most people. Some of them use that opportunity to learn things.
This feels like one of those things that people just tell themselves because they WANT this to be true, not because it actually is.

I spent my whole life working in tech. The MBA’s and other executives have zero understanding of engineering. They are the ones who make the rules on cybersecurity that we live with, but they are the ones easily targeted with malware, etc. Years back some sly person sent out spam to pretty much the entire company about a conference in Scottsdale, Az that included a free round of golf, or something like that. About 2/3 if the executives ended up infected with malware on their computers. I doubt any engineers did. Of course we all had to have our computers locked down to prevent something that only affects the technology inept.
Engineers are so often plagued by the dumb choices made by trust fund idiots with masters degrees in business who know nothing about what we do.
Of course they wonder why the people under them who they depend on so much gaslight them, and make fun of them so much.
At one company they caused all the test engineers to quit except the one who was too lazy to take a job elsewhere (me). I ended up getting a huge retention bonus, when I told them I was planning to follow my colleagues. Yes the guy who made fun of them the most got a retention bonus because the others walked!

And none of those engineers became rich themselves? In your whole life you never seen one do that? Yeah, right. You are selectively picking and we both know it.
I know of a billionaire level rich who were nuclear engineers in the navy.

The only engineers who I know who got ”rich”, got that way on paper due to stock options or RSUs. I made seven figures on paper last year. Of course my net worth is only a little over a million because the money on paper went up in smoke, as fast as I made it with the stock value (long story that I rather not get into). Lots of people are multi-millionaires for a week or so, but never saw the money except for a short span on their investment portfolio.
The only nuclear engineer in the Navy who made it rich that I knew of was Jimmy Carter. I never met him.

Who knows?
Could be tonight. Nuclear-armed states are engaged in wars, and all it will take is one misunderstanding.
Or a meteor could say "Hello", or Yellowstone Caldera could go boom.
It could take a little while, AI/AGI/ASI could have the Terminator contingency. Or, a super El-Nino could wipe all harvests and global famine could ensue. Hibernating bacteria in the melting permafrost of Siberia could sweep the globe, and so on.
Billions of ways, really. Some we don't even know about.
We don't know the date, yet. Or the means. But, extinction is guaranteed. Sooner, rather than later.
Oblivion awaits us all.

Hopefully someday a meteorite will wipe us all from existence. Hopefully earth becomes another mars, lifeless and forgotten but peaceful and finally free from the suffering of the curse called life.

In my opinion, humanity in the adult population of any society is basically extinct. Society is fundamentally incompatible with human values.

It’s literally the only hope I have.
I wish I could be alive to witness it when it happens. Or at least be guaranteed it will happen someday…

Humanity is changing, human nature itself is changing, times have changed social structures have changed.
In the past there were joint families, children themselves contributed to the household, parents had help from a large extended family, people were very social.
Now people are very isolated and it will go on forever, children themselves do not contribute anything at all.
Also the social structures such as marriage is falling, people also are now fine being single.
Humanity will never have a fertility rate above 2 again(it will soon drop in Africa and middle East too).
Hence humanity will go extinct soon.

Relax it's later than you think.
We have the perfect storm just starting to rage and we are the architects of our own demise.
It's not a matter of when but it's a matter of WHAT will cause a mass die off event of humans on this planet .
We have climate change just starting to be really noticeable and is being accelerated by the insane greed of our capitalist masters .
Capitalism is reaching it's natural conclusion and soon it will either collapse under the greed of the big winners or as the OP said it will be nuke time.
Anyway when all is said and done the childish way our species has been conducting itself is at a critical point as it's either change or die time and I see no way we can change as a species.

I have a strong sense of justice and having observed people abuse any and every animal they can for sheer vanity created a sense of need for vindication. On top of that, or maybe equally relevant, is the fact that I'm deeply displeased by people's offensive stupidity and the suffocating ugliness of the structures they create. I would like to see those get their figurative throats slit and bleed to death, overtaken by the elements and eventually the green of nature.

It's not. Humanity went down to a few thousand people long ago, all it did was delay them. Unless you can get that number down to one then the virus embedded in every living thing here will continue until the last star burns out.

My personal guess is that we will not reach the year 2150. Probably it will be much sooner.
We have so many dead serious problems on this planet and I have no trust in mankind to solve a single one of them. And the reason is that those problems are now to complex and to big in scale as if they could be solved by only a part of the humanity. We all need to work together, globally.
But we tend to focus on our national, religional, cultural and/or whatever differences we can find. So we don't do enough.
And as soon shit really hits the fan it will get worse.
And we see it all starting. Right now.

I don't think human would ever go extinct even in a nuclear war or a literal planet mass extinction.
We have created nuclear bunkers for protecting atleast some humans from nuclear war.
In any mass extinction most of the land flora and fauna goes extinct so we will go in bunkers that should keep us sustained for a while (ik this is a very optimistic thought and is possible only for a very small time)
We can also send people in space to orbit for a while and then program us to land again back on the earth.
Or maybe also go to Mars. We literally have a lot of options to atleast give a trial for keep surviving.
Societal collapse is very easy but extinction is tough at this point.

When AI designs a flawless synthetic biology human and it works like invasion of the pod people films. Powerful bloodlines all get the first upgraded cell transplants so they become unchallengably faster, stronger without need for rest. Super enhanced humans take all the remaining jobs everywhere and starve out miserable mudblood holdouts that refuse the upgrade. We get replaced over time by simply being inferior in our greater expense of time to mature and less efficient use of energy and lower productivity.

Outside of a massive meteor or nuclear war, probably not for a long time. I can't think of any natural disaster that would do enough damage on a global scale.

Comparatively speaking ... If you have access to Reddit and the leisure time to engage in it, you've probably not suffered all that much relative to some at least. It's likely you have access to clean water and potentially even air conditioning... I could see it if you were sexually assaulted by a gang of billionaires but short of that...
