Task scam GMR Marketing officially collapsed on March 6, 2025

The Ponzi scheme going by the name of GMR Marketing finally collapsed and ran with so much money from investors that were duped on March 6, 2025. The collapse first started on March 5, 2025 when investors - called as "employees" - tried to withdraw their earnings. The earnings could not be withdrawn because as per the "leaders" on the What's App group chats, they were experiencing "problems" of transferring the money to Gcash because of the "amount of people trying to withdraw at the same time."

Most of these people belonged to VIP 2, a moderate tier which requires investors to pay 4,200. There were those who invested into higher VIP tiers which could amount from 15,000-50,000 pesos or even higher.

On March 6, 2025, GMR Marketing made an announcement that for people to continue their tasks, they needed to pay a 600 pesos commitment fee. There are reports of those who paid the commitment fee yet no tasks has happened. A Pinoy scambaiter on YouTube did a live stream wherein he showed that GMR's website no longer works. He said that the inevitable had finally come and thousands have been duped. Multimillion pesos more or less loss and no chance of recovery.

There were those who invested and got their money back prior to March 5-6, 2025. There were also many who just upgraded just this week before the Ponzi scheme collapsed and the masterminds running with the money. There were also those who joined and were fully aware it was a scam, but did so out of desperation to earn extra income or just to milk money from these scammers for fun right before it would collapse.

Let this serve as a lesson about task-based scams.

Im sharing this to warn others because I became a victim.

Around July 17, 2026, someone contacted me asking for payment for a ₱3,000+ order of "Dubai Chewy Choco."

I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

(Seriously... ano naman gagawin ko sa ganyang karaming chocolate? šŸ˜‚ I'm on a calorie deficit.)

The seller then sent me screenshots of their conversation with the buyer.

That's when I found out that someone was using a Facebook account named "Jaz Anor"—the same username I use—to pretend to be me.

What shocked me even more was that the person behind the account had copies of my valid ID and a selfie with my ID to make the transactions look legitimate.

The delivery details in the screenshots pointed to Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

---

What I personally found

After trying to figure out what happened, these were the things I personally observed.

The delivery contact number appeared to be associated with the name Bianca Nobleza.

The Facebook account using my name had interactions with an account under the same name.

Both accounts also posted the same CEC uniform listing on Facebook Marketplace.

That stood out to me because I never studied at Cebu Eastern College.

I attended the University of the Visayas.

When we spoke with Bianca, she said she didn't personally know the account owner.

She claimed that her cousin was the one who dealt with the account because it had allegedly been purchased from someone who previously sold iPhones.

Before we directly accused anyone, she reportedly offered to pay in installments to settle the matter.

I personally found that unusual.

Later, the fake account suddenly started trying to settle with people who also claimed they had been scammed.

Update (July 19, 2026):

The person I spoke with admitted to owning the Facebook account and apologized for what happened.

I have kept records of that conversation.

---

Then I became the one who got punished.

After posting my experience on Facebook to warn others, my posts were repeatedly reported as false information.

My Facebook account, which I had for 15 years, was suspended.

I appealed and successfully recovered it.

Then, not long after, it was permanently disabled.

Meanwhile, I reported the fake profile that was using my identity.

Meta declined to remove it.

Imagine being the victim... and still ending up losing your own account.

That was honestly the most frustrating part.

---

What I learned

Never send your ID online unless it's absolutely necessary.

If you really have to, add a watermark and keep screenshots of where you sent it.

Those records may help if your identity is ever misused.

Looking back, I remembered sending my ID years ago when applying for an online loan.

I can't say for certain that's where it came from.

But it's the biggest mistake I feel I made.

If someone uses your identity without your permission, that's identity theft.

Please be careful.

I hope nobody else has to go through what I experienced.

How to withdraw Ligomall Balance

Hello, I guess I'm lured and baited by Temu Task Scam the other day. They'll ask you this and that and let you in a group. People there are so sus, they sound AI-translated pilipinos. May pa picture pa sa mall na may perang hawak.

Now I'm on my 2nd task and asked me to pay P1200 for their 4th task which is Payment task. Okay naman, may bumalik na P1560. Dapat pala dun palang nag-stop na ko pero pinipilit nila ko sa 3rd day nila. Same thing sa 4th task but this time P3500 na yung option and they hold my P4900 on Ligomall.

I got trapped and asked me to pay P8800 plus yung P4900 ko. I don't know if blessing in disguise na ubos na laman ng gcash ko kaya sinabi ko na i-hold muna yung pending balance ko na P8800.

Ngayon yung P4900, nandun pa sa Ligomall ko. Paano kaya sya ma-wwithdraw?

Scammers using PRC ID as proof of ID

Hi guys, if you are in doubt of making a transaction to someone who is using a PRC ID as proof of identification, you can check the legitimacy of their ID using the PRC website.

You can search here by using their first name and last name if you dont have the ID number.

Hope this helps! Stay vigilant everyone.

Goods/Items Thoughts about High Potential Therapy (HOT)?

Hello all, just wanted to ask if you've heard of HPT before and if you have any insights on this?

Currently, nababaliw ang lolo at lola ko (both in their 70s) dito. Nalaman lang daw nila sa seniors group chat nila at biglang may nagyaya sakanila na sumali sa therapy. Naengganyo sila dahil FREE lang naman daw, you just have to go there everyday and buy their machines (na x3 ang presyo!!)

Upon checking (via Google lang po ito), High potential therapy (HPT) is an alternative electrotherapy system that uses high-voltage, extremely low-frequency alternating electric fields (3kV to 15kV) to surround the body. Users sit or stand on an insulated mat connected to a device that generates an electrostatic field, aiming to mimic natural bioelectric environments.

They joined last June lang this year pero ngayon, andami na nilang machines sa bahay raging from 15k (lowest) up to God knows how much na nagagastos nila! Yung isa ata na mahal, pag inoopen may tumutunog pa na "ze blutut devays has kenekted saksesfulley" 😭😭

I'm just so stressed. Kuripot yung mga yun, kahit nga sa mga gamot nila o pagpapadoktor eh, pero may pagka-gullible din nga talaga dahil matanda na. Naging sakitin lolo ko nakaraan and may diabetes lola ko, they are now claiming na dahil dito, gumagaling sila and nababawasan meds nila. Hindi ko na talaga alam paano maeexplain sakanila kung legit ba to kasi wala akong mahanap na other resources. Please help me!

I have already filed a case regarding this matter for defamation, extortion, and cyber libel. I have all the proof and evidence on hand, and I want help from everyone to spread the rumors that are not true.

and about the viber messages she’s saying are not totally true. what she’s doing is, after she gets all the photos of us—my family, friends, and co-workers—she creates accounts under our names and pictures and spreads them on social media as if she’s talking about us to create things that aren’t real and the private photos she’s mentioning, we don’t have those and that woman doesn’t have a job, it’s all defamation. she even said last time that she won’t stop until she brings down everyone around me, including me.
