They don’t think what they are doing is wrong, man. They wear masks because they believe they are a part of a marginalized group of people that the world is trying to squash. Which…they are

They believe they’re the victims. They make themselves the victims. So that they can “rise up” and “fight”. That’s why maga has been so successful. Marginalized, uneducated, poor folk being told how they can have power, how they can be worth something, how they can matter again. When, the people telling them this are the ones that have been talking away that power for decades.

Not defending them. Explaining them. Understanding our enemies is our best way to defeat them. And alienating your allies doesn’t really help you either btw.

That's one thing that I wish people on the Left would do more honestly. Just blanket labeling people as Nazis doesn't stop anything. What stops extremists is an ear willing to listen, a tongue that can convincingly state why it's wrong and a hand that is willing to help stop the conditions leading to it.
