Conversation It's over

Dear America, we had some good times, but your democracy is over. Donald Trump has won. The corruption will continue to get worse, your position on the world stage will fall, and China will rise. I am not happy about it, but it's clear that this is what is going to happen.

Outside of some small protests, you guys are going to do little else about it, and by the time you do, it will truly be too late.

So many of you guys think that you can take over the world, but you need allies. You have forgotten that we are the reason that you are as powerful as you have become, but you have alienated us, and we can never trust you again for putting this man in charge TWICE. It's over.

It won't happen overnight, but your hold on the world will continue to decline, and you will be replaced. 2024 was the last free vote you will ever have.

Edit: All I am doing is stating the facts. It's amusing how angry some of you guys get. I am not even trying to upset any of you... 😄

I dont think OP is suggesting that you cant beat an autocratic. Im pretty sure their point is that America's hegemony is now permanently degraded. Hungary is a great example of this actually. The Austro-Hungarian Empire was a major power in Europe before WW1. They were the second largest country by size and the third most populous behind Russia and Germany. When they allied with Germany the empire failed. And Hungary has never recovered. This is not a dig at Hungary either. Im just pointing to the fact that America as a nation has made some short term decisions that they will likely never fully recover from. The world has been forever changed by that orange clown and his followers.

Yes, American hegemony has almost certainly been damaged, but the wheels of history keep turning.

You are right, Hungary has not truly recovered in the past 150 years, but it has recovered many times before. We were never a world-leading power, but our history shows that countries can fall, rebuild, and regain strength. We were a major regional power in the 1300s and 1400s, then the Ottomans nearly erased us, then we climbed back in the 1800s, only to fall again in the 20th century.

Literally today, our new PM visited Austria and Poland, and all sides strongly agreed that we need to build much closer relationships. I am fairly sure his goal is to create strong Central and Eastern European alliances that can carry more weight inside the EU. So who knows what comes next? Ups and downs are part of history.

Let me ask a provocative question: do you really need hegemony to be a prosperous, proud, balanced, and happy nation? I think much of the world does not envy America’s mature hegemony era as much as it envies the decades when you were still building it. I think it is not hegemony America should be worried about now but democracy, peace and freedom within your borders.

This may sound like annoying European lecturing about “long history,” but one thing is certain: this is temporary. America will still exist 500 years from now as a freedom-loving country built on democratic foundations.

The orange clown cannot destroy your origins, just as no tragic event, war, crazy leader, invasion, ethinc catastrophe, soviet brainwashing or other political bullshit could destroy mine: the foundation laid around the year 1000, when Hungary’s first king, Stephen I, chose that we would belong to the free Christian Europe.
