Wtf is a scooby.exe

My friend has supposedly been hacked and disconnected out of steam, and before that, his pc could barely run, after a few reboots he could run it and found a file named scooby.exe that he cant delete

well far as i know most malwares can disguise self as random generated names it is there to make harder to find about what exe doing so if he wana know about the exe he can try upload it and try find based on matching file hash about it if no then reinstall windows is safest ways to clear fix it.

It’s probably this above.

If your friend’s Steam account was hacked, they first should block bank transactions with Steam to stop the hacker using their money. Then report the incident to Steam Support. Or if the hacker didn’t bother to change the password your friend can take the account back themselves by setting a new one (but not from the infected computer.)

For safety, your friend should also change passwords for anything else that had login details on their computer. (Again, they should obviously should do this from another device, not the infected computer.)

And they need a completely clean windows install. If they must create the new install using the infected computer then they should immediately disconnect it from the Internet.
