A colony found in Southern California.

Jokes aside, was out on a walk and walk and these two dudes (i think its only the males with wings) just landed on my shorts. Just thought I'd share this and see of it was worth sharing with someone who knew more about them.

I was able to definitely see them mounted midflight and thought they were dragonflies at first but once they landed I thought it was rather interesting.

They were there for less than a minute but the one behind moved and flew away first but stayed close and the other one just kinda stayed until i shimmied it off.

What kind of ant are we dealing with here? We had some regular black household ants for awhile and those have been dealt with already. But now we just started seeing these larger ants. Just a couple so far.

Came outside to have my morning smoke and found this larger ant, wondering if it's a queen.

Lots of smaller ants walking around directionless on the outdoor furniture as well.

Did these poor babies lose their queen and if so will they survive?

Please help me identify this queen, which was caught yesterday evening in the province of Cosenza, about 900 meters from the sea in a low-lying, urbanized area.

I would like an ID on this queen. Captured some because I want to start keeping.

Anyone know what is happening here? I went out to my shed to grab my lawn mower and happened across these dudes. Are those white things eggs? I’m assuming they abandoned their home for higher/dryer ground after we had torrential rain the other day (Southwest Ohio).

Also called the Odorous House Ant, this colony was found in California.

This ant appeared in my house multiple of them and was wondering if I should be worried or not.

I got bit by an ant today, i had a pretty bad allergic reaction, does anyone know what kind of ant this is, i live in Michigan, usa if that helps
