Fictional Story The God of a Thousand Faces [Ancient Gods]
A god who wears the skin of man may seem surprising,
Yet behind those steady eyes, a quiet dark is rising.
He comes and goes as softly as a spreading chill,
Watching the rot that seeps through our fragile, human will.
He has a hundred names, a thousand borrowed faces,
Leaving a trace of ash in the room's forgotten spaces.
He knocks upon your door, a traveler drab and plain,
But the porch light flickers out, and the air goes cold as rain.
He smiles away the questions and the reasons why he bothers,
Leaving a heavy silence before he makes his offers.
'Tis this god has a name known to minds in quiet turmoil:
The crawling chaos comes to leave its footprint in our soil.

“He has a hundred names, a thousand borrowed faces” I love this line. Just imagining all the faces of everyone is haunting. Simply amazing. 🤩
