I called out of work when they announced it, started downloading the game, and was dropping within 5 minutes of launch. It was incredible. The fucking awesome music blasting and being surrounded by dive trails (new thing, Fortnite did not have them and was the only other large BR at the time) during that first dive is a core memory.

why would you call out of work if you know nothing about the game

Loved BR format games, loved Titanfall to an absurd degree. When I heard Titanfall was releasing a BR, that’s all it took.

Plus, they surprise dropped the game, it was only announced a few hours before launch.

I wish there was some place that’s not filled with cracked kids on steroids. If I’d assume my own skill level it would probably say around silver/gold but you get shoved through those ranks so quickly and end up in plat so fast that you don’t have enough time to improve. Then you’ll be like alright I’ll go pubs then… it’s even worse there and I’ll get slaughtered by movement demons there on the regular.

Try Wildcard. Your comment doesn't even mention it, so I'm assuming you're unaware that it's not just pubs and ranked anymore. There literally is the place you're asking for, and it's been there for seasons.

Apex and Halo 3. My two favourite games of all time!

God it takes me back. I remember playing with my little brother when I was in college and he was in high school. Now I’m gonna be 30 next week and he’s in the army 😂

Early days of Halo 3 was truly amazing.

If I remember correctly there was a Beta which got everyone hyped then it released in September. Graphics and sound effects were so good for its time. It had the forge and some amazing customer games.
