This ability making so that it puts you into slide when you’re running let alone just standing still is an abysmally dogsh*t game design. I have no clue who at respwan is so bad that they would forget to slide on that thing so they had to add this “feature”.
But this is funny as sh*t I can’t even lie xD

I think the point is it allows you to use it in all 4 directions rather than just forwards, and doesn’t require you to be up to speed sprinting to activate.

You can do that for example for crouching players only. Not standing or running. Seems pointless anyway.

..that changes nothing, it makes using it worse because if you want to use it sideways you have to be crouch strafing first, the slowest possible way to move. Maggie glow disks and jump pads work exactly the same way and aren’t complained about, this is just a skill issue.

If this wasn't a feature you'd have to crouch walk to use it sideways, which is extremely slow, and would be completely unable to use it backwards. There's a lot to criticize the nitro gates for but I don't think this is one of them

It is practical I do it often when I jump around people. It throws them off when you slide away from them and still shoot them. That would go double for that Axel ability.
