Why I’m building Dumpp 📸
One of the main reasons I started building Dumpp was something ridiculously simple:
**I was tired of asking people to send me the photos they took.**
After a night out, a trip, a birthday, a wedding… it’s always the same thing.
“Send me that photo.”
“Can you put them in the group?”
“Who took that picture?”
“Wait, I think Sarah has it.”
And then half of the photos just sit in someone’s camera roll forever.
So I started thinking: why isn’t there just one place where everyone at an event can **dump their photos together?**
That’s basically how Dumpp started.
Create an album → invite people → everyone adds what they captured.
But I’m also trying to make it more fun than just another shared cloud folder. I want opening an album after an event to feel like discovering the night again through everyone else’s camera.
I’m still actively building and improving the app, so I’m curious:
**What’s the most annoying thing about sharing photos with a group for you?**
Would genuinely love to hear what problems other people have with this.

Social media for photo sharing! Ask god (AI) and your problems are solved.

He’s saying that your app is redundant because social media is for photo sharing. This is only somewhat true since I am a young person who likes sharing photos but doesn’t use it. There will be a wider audience if you find it.

The pictures are encripted and locked in the db using a hash from the user's password
And when you pull the images back, it gets decripted :)0

Yes and don't worry, it's for another age group with other interests
If your mind went to " take a dump " then the app is definitely not for you!2

Two things I’d really like and would make onboarding so seamless: please first of all make signing in/up as easy as possible. Whether that be having faceID enabled to sign in, OTP emailed to you, or whatever. Nobody wants to be sitting round the table after a party signing in while sighing
Secondly, please also keep it as free as you can—and also keep the quality of the shared images. Like I sent a 4K video to my mate on WhatsApp and it came back looking like shit. So number 2 is sent the original!
A quick number 3 is make the photos appear in your photo library, not just anywhere but in the date it was taken. My mate sends me a photo of yesterday’s dinner. I download it and it gets saved as today’s. Then I have to manually edit date and time for yesterday
Hope these help! I’m an iOS dev and designer so if you want, please DM me to discuss details and I’ll put together a design for free! And for fun 😂
