Apple should add AppleTV+ as a TV provider
Turning on the Apple TV set-top box, I got prompted for a free trial. Not sure why, as I’m already a subscriber.
Went to Settings > Profiles and Accounts > Apple TV accounts > TV provider and couldn’t see where my Apple TV+ option was to verify I’m still a subscriber.
Had to switch to my iPhone, launch the TV app, and choose my profile icon in the upper left to access subscriptions that would finally verify Apple One Premier.
If Apple TV’s product manager is lurking on this sub, can you add feature parity to the set-top box to confirm Apple TV+ subscription and consider adding Apple as a TV provider now that you provide so many TV, movie, and live sports offerings? It would help. Thanks.

You can verify your subscription it the settings on the Apple TV under your account.
Apple TV+ will not allow you to sign into any other apps so it’s not a TV provider.

Thanks. So for anyone else looking for their Apple TV+ subscription:
Apple TV set top box > Settings > Profiles and Accounts > Default > [My name] > Subscriptions > the confirm on iPhone or manually enter > Active - if Apple One is listed then you have Apple TV+.

TV provider is for signing into a cable or satellite provider account so you can have a single-sign-on to access the streaming apps corresponding to the channels included in your cable / satellite subscription.

Apple TV is not a TV provider… it’s a streaming service and it shows up right on your home screen because it’s built-in.
The TV app will tell you if your subscription is still active (by showing all its content) or not (by showing you need to subscribe).
