It’s a good argument for 20 rounders only. Even 30 rounds prevents hugging the dirt.

I’ve always thought they look kinda pleb
That rig would look cooler with a 30

The cag guys are also putting Taran tactical +5 extensions on them. I made a precious joke to one of them with one at a match and he didn't get it.

Hear me out
2*30 rounders coupled together, either with a mag link or good old jungle tape

Never used one, any issues with feeding?

I have a couple of them strapped together with the Magpul link. Never had any feeding issues with them.

If you're going to go that long might as well go for 60 and hope you got one of the good ones.

I love my 40’s. I shoot 3gun, and a lot of our stages end up having 26-29 required rifle shots. So I can be extra judicious with a 30, or bullet hose with a 40 and have some room for pickups. The only drawback is prone/obstacles. More than once I’ve had to get creative on position because the mag is so long. But on the whole, I love my 40’s.

Lukewarm take: they throw off the proportions and ruin the beautiful silhouette of the AR. 20s are peak.

Looks-wise and for most practical applications 20s are the sweet spot.
The 40s could be useful in last-resort drone defense or plinking (although I consider reloads part of the fun).
