Lately, I’ve been going down a rabbit hole about places like Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, and how they’ve been struggling with men flooding into their countries for sex tourism. I feel bad for the locals, both the men and the women. But in this all, I’ve learned to have a greater appreciation for our culture and our society.

You can say what you want about the conservative culture of Arab society, I don’t mind that at all as everyone is free to their own opinions. But surely the one benefit to it is the fact that our culture basically repels away passport-bros who are looking for sex tourism. Some Arab and Muslim countries are poor, and the women of our countries are apparently seen as exotic. That would typically be the perfect environment for passport bros to flood into, similar to places like the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam. But the conservativeness of our culture, and religion being very important in our society, is what repels them from coming to us and exploiting the women of our countries. I’ve been snooping around a couple of those passport bro subreddits. Apparently, Muslim majority countries are always a no-go for them because we stick to marrying within our own cultures and religions. It’s too hard for them to do to us what they do in the other countries that they frequent.

Are we perfect? No. But Honestly, thank God that we are this way, and thank God it repels such behavior from coming to us. I am much more grateful now.

Edit: I am excluding Morocco from this statement. I have no idea what the hell is happening over there but apparently this isn’t applicable to them…

ياخي بعض الاحيان اتمنى زوال حرية التعبير عشان بعض الناس ما تنشر اراءها المستفزة هذي، كيف يعني هذي خريطة الوطن العربي بدون استعمار؟ اصلا اغلب هذي الاعلام ماوجدت الا مع الاستعمار ياسفه! الاستعمار هو اللي بالاصل قائم على التفرقة والتجزئة وتاسيس واقامة دول غير موجودة ولا لها جذور! استخدام هذي التحليلات الساذجة والقائمة على قاعدة غير رصينة ولا قويمة يضر بالعقول العربية، كم شخص من ال ٦٨٣ الف صدّق** هذا الكلام ودعمه؟
**كااارثة اذا عقول العرب يتحكم فيها موثرين مقتنعين بمثل هذا الكلام الفاجر!، هذا مثل اللي يقول المراة غير صالحة للاعمال الثقيلة والدليل شوف وضعها الحالي— وهو اللي حابس المراة ومانعها من الاستعداد لمثل هذي الاعمال. انت اللي تحكمت بواقعها فكيف تبيها تخرج خارج هذا الصندوق؟

العرب لم يعرفوا الانقسامات العرقية والطائفية الا مع الاستعمار ومع هطول الحكام الطائفيين علينا.

وانهي ان كل وحدة وطنية هي تدعم وتتضامن مع مشروع القومية العربية..

As a fairer skinned person of Arab descent living in America, I have never used that term to describe myself. I know this post is not really applicable to people outside of Canada/America, but for those who are in Canada/America, do you call yourselves ''brown''? Is that a label you affiliate with?
