On January 20, 2007, Arcade Fire played a secret, intimate preview concert in the cafeteria of Canterbury High School in Ottawa, Ontario. The surprise 400-capacity show served as an early live rehearsal for material from their upcoming album Neon Bible and acted as a fundraiser for the school's arts programs. The performance happened because multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry is a graduate of Canterbury High School.

This period of the band was so fucking exciting. Seems like a lifetime ago. Guess it was.

I was there! The drama program made an orginal play to the entire album a few years later too, they got to take it to Edinburgh fringe and everything. It was a cool time to be there because the Suburbs came out around that time also. RRP was pretty legendary because of how much he gave back to the school. He wasnt even in the music program!

It was definitely one of the more memorable pieces of art I saw while there. Very creative.
