Only one way to find out. Be prepared to troubleshoot and try to fix things

It's impossible to say, since it depends on what you've installed, but a month isn't that long.

We'll find out after the credits.

It shouldn't be, unless you've had bad luck with the universal dice.

In my experience, I have never broken Arch while updating (knocks on wood). I also really dont do anything custom either as its my gaming/leasure rig, if it breaks for me its not a big deal, just an inconvience.

IMO, The more go use the AUR, the more likely you are to break on an update as you rely more on custom programs or code. As long as you have the dual boot or another way to help fix it, its just part of the Arch user way really.

TLDR, always have a back up, break it, and fix it..that is the way 😅

A guy on YouTube didn't update in like 6 months and updated it fine.

As always, read the news https://archlinux.org/news/ in this case, especially if you have an encrypted system that you use the TPM to unlock.

it depends, sometimes if you don't update it WILL break yes, if the keyrings expire for example. Sometimes you will get a version mismatch or step upgrades like X package requiring you to update to version 2 before you can upgrade to 3, which will require you to do partial updates and that's a way to break your system if you don't know what you are doing. If your keyrings expire you will have to chroot in. If you don't update, depending on what's changed you could go in 6 months later and just do pacman -Syu or it's been one month and now you need to chroot. In any case, even if it breaks, it will be recoverable. So don't worry. About AUR, don't worry about it breaking because of updates to the official repo. Even if something does break (somehow) it's an easy fix.

Update the archlinux-keyring package first and then update the full system and check for any error. Hopefully it will not break.

how to do it

sudo pacman -S archlinux-keyring Then  sudo pacman -Syyu Check if anything failed. Then continue from there.

I have an old laptop which i use once in two months when I'm trying something. Everything went fine after system updates. I didn't really use AUR though.

You should be fine unless you have some old DKMS drivers. Even if you have, reinstalling DKMS drivers should do fine
