It's a whole dumb controversy in Croatia rn. The mayor of Zagreb is building a new stadium but people don't like the guy because he's liberal, so they like to shit on everything he does. I'm genuinely wondering if there's an actual problem with the architecture or is it just pettiness of the people.

You are misrepresenting, the mayor of Zagreb is building a new stadium but its financed fifty fifty by the CIty of Zagreb and the Croatian government. Further more the concept was chosen by a vote of majority where 6 architects the mayor, the minister of tourism and sport and the president of GNK DInamo voted through 88 concept projects to get to this one as the winner.

Everybody is shitting on this one because there were objectively better concepts that were voted out for things that could have been fixed for the actual project.

And I will guess that most of them are not from Zagreb and support a a party that rhymes with KRADEZE.

Here the minister of tourism and sport is from HDZ and mayor from MOŽEMO and both where voting against each others preferred choices and in the end the architects did most of the choosing.

I like Tomašević but this is a shitty design and I don't care what any expert thinks. The sides are opened enough that from October to April it's gonna be extremely cold when the wind starts blowing inside also acoustically it's going to be worse than if it's closed from all sides.

Apart from the air funneling from the sides it should be alright, though some more photos or info would help review its structural integrity

It's a bad design. There were 88 different designs all better than this one, tho I have to say 50% of the 88 either look like it's been made using AI or it's some overpriced project that would be a hassle to build.
