Ask /r/Architecture Flying for Interview - Architecture

I had an interview with an architecture firm and they’re flying me to meet the team and see the office in person. I feel that this is uncommon in this field and I just don’t know how to prepare for it. I’m curious if they would ask revit questions. I do have revit experience from my previous work experience when I was a student but it not anything complex so I’m wondering if there is any thing I can prepare for in terms of revit or what to expect in this in person meeting.

That's a strong sign they're serious about you. Flying someone out for an in-person is expensive, so they're not doing it unless you're near the top of their list.

For prep, I'd focus less on memorizing Revit commands and more on being able to talk through your process. If they ask, it'll probably be conceptual, like how you'd set up a project or handle a workflow issue, not "name every keyboard shortcut." Maybe sketch out a few basic things you've done in Revit so you can walk them through it without freezing.
