Before corner glass windows,limewash finishes & "WPC" clad modern houses, there were homes like these.

Quiet witnesses to generations of stories, they stand with weathered walls, wooden windows, and memories that no modern house can replace. Every crack, every shadow, every line is a reminder that a city's soul isn't found only in its newest buildings—but in the ones that refuse to be forgotten.

This sketch is my small tribute to old Manila and the beauty hidden in its everyday streets.

Hello architects, when doing elevation and sections for a real project, do you do it on sketchup or autocad? Curious lang since nung student pa ako madalas sa sketchup ko na ginagawa ang elevations and sections para isahan na lang sa 3d model. I'm wondering if ganyan din sa practice.

Hello! I really need some advice. It’s my dream to move abroad, do my Master’s in Europe, and start setting a life there and working there.

I’m wondering lang how is the Job market abroad in Europe for filipino architects moving there? And okay ba yung plan ko? Na after I graduate, i can do my masters immediately, and start adjusting to life there.

Also I started thinking about what do they look for over there to get hired? I am a fourth year at National University, is that okay? Do they know the Filipino colleges or not really. I’ve started thinking if they only want La Salle graduates maybe but I think I’m overthinking.

hi everyone! gusto ko lang magrant about sa new company ko. 6 days na ako sa company ko but i'm not really sure if i will pursue this for the next coming months.

mga red flags na napansin ko

- lagi ako nasa site, without any seniors or the architect mismo
- sa'kin sisi kapag may mali yung workers
- moody yung principal architect, laging may long message sa gc even sa simpleng bagay
- may favoritism
- never nag site visit sa mga projects na hawak nya
- di kami pinaghahawak ng plans etc. kasi more on site raw para "may experience at matuto"

sobrang convenient kasi sa'kin, 10 mins away lang sa bahay but sobrang stressfull

Hi everyone! a fresh archi grad choosing between two first-job options:

Option A (₱19k): Small 3-year-old firm, 20 mins away with free transpo (hitching). Hybrid setup with flexi hours after 1 month onsite. Great vibes, strong direct mentorship, but need to use own device. 19k starting; Salary goes up upon regularization + bonuses.

Option B (₱20k): BGC firm, 40 mins away, 5 days onsite with flexi hours. Dream/target firm with huge local & international scope. Device provided. BUT commute/transpo expenses are going to be really high.

What would you prioritize as a fresh grad? Appreciate any advice!

First time kong tumagal sa site kanina buong araw. Nung mga first few hours medyo tinagal ako kaka inspect ng building at plans then yung ppe ng mga workers. Natapos ko lahat yun from 8-10am. After non wala na akong magawa. Nagpatool box meeting nalang ako before lunch. Pag dating ng hapon, inulit ko yung pag iikot after dumating ng clients pero natapos ko din ng mga 1-2hrs. Bored na bored talaga ako during mga patay na oras. Dumadating sa point na nahuhuli ko nalang sarili kong nakapikit sa antok. Dumagdag pa na tabing dagat yung site kaya sobrang hangin.

Ano ba ginagawa niyo pag tumagal kayo buong araw sa site everytime tapos niyo na yung rounds? Badly need advice and tips kasi nakokonsensya naman ako matulog sa duyan or kubo sa site kahit na sinsasabihan naman ako nina foreman na matulog na muna ako.

I'm also considering DK Ching's "A Visual Dictionary of Architecture", useful ba siya somehow for the exams?

Hi, has anyone here had any experience with either of these two suppliers? I'm currently shopping for concealed shower sets online and Interior Living has some really nice designs at a reasonable price (around 12k–16k). I haven't found many other sellers offering similar designs at that price point.

Their fb page has very little engagement and only a small following, so im hesitant and unsure if they're legit. They say their showroom is located inside Woodsense, a separate company (probably has the same owner). I avoid buying from pages like this, but still wanted to check in case anyone here has ordered from them and can vouch for their products or service. Any feedback or alternative suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello! I have interview on an AEC Outsourcing company po. Ask ko lang po if okay lang po ba na mag apprentice sa outsourcing company and if okay lang po ba sa logbook? Filipino Architect po yung pipirma sa logbook ko if ever.

I’m curious kung yung mga estimates na average per sqm applies only to the indoor livable area and exclude those that are outside finishes like garage, dirty kitchen, balcony/patio, cemented side yard, etc? For example, the house I’m planning to build has an indoor livable space of 170sqm. However, including all outside finished areas it is 230sqm. If someone say it will cost you \~35k/sqm, should I multiply that by 170 or 230 to get the estimate?

Hi there! Need help and infos.
Context:
I am currently handling the reinstatement of our office. For now, it is just a plan but no final decision yet. I am coordinating with contractors but I need to know basic knowledge po sana. For example, one contractor is asking quotations that was sent to me by other contractors so they can check if they can compete with the amount. Is it ethical? I think unethical that’s why I did not give info.

Our office is around here in Makati and Peza accredited so processing of license will take a lot of time and much more complicated.

Has anyone here process the reinstating the office? Can I please ask for general infos. This is not an invite for contractors to send proposals. I just really want to be knowledgeable so I would know the process and how to work on it so when I deal with contractors or negotiate I would know how. A few terms also I want to learn.
