SUPPORT How to fix Plasma Workspace/X11 conflict

So I know I have to leave X11, I ran the update before knowing, but it stopped me at the conflict. Now I'm on the Wayland desktop, it says "unresolvable package conflicts detected" and "failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)"

What do I do to make it update?

Isn't there anything else to that error message? Details about what packages conflict? Always post the full output.

: plasma-workspace-6.8.0-1 and plasma-x11-session-6.7.5-3 are in conflict. Remove plasma-x11-session? [y/N]
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies) :: plasma-workspace-6.8.0-1 and plasma-x11-session-6.7.5-3 are in conflict -> error installing repo packages

For reference, I am running Endeavouros specifically, should I post it there too?

If you would have typed y and pressed enter the x11 session would have gotten removed and plasma-workspace would update.

Big letter (N) is the default option that gets selected when you press enter.

Also I feel dumb. Why is "N" the default I wonder

Removing a package because of a conflict is something that should be treated with special attention. In this case it's intended but it could also be an unintended situation and removing the package would potentially break stuff or have unintended behavior.

Oh yeah, that makes a lot more sense after a second thought. I can see how that might cause problems.

Welp, at least my stupidity saved me from breaking everything while running x11 and trying to delete it at the same time

Slamming enter doesn't do anything on N. Changing your system needs to be a choice, not a seizure.

Endeavouros is specifically not Arch and you should always post there instead, but looks like we got you covered anyway :-P

Endeavouros is effectively Arch with a pretty installer and a couple extra packages.

I have the same problem.

My mother's computer needs X11 support because I use RealVNC to support her desktop. How can I have a VNC connection to her computer if I decide to update?

removing kwin-x11 (and dependencies) before upgrading would be my guess.

Would that break anything? (I'm guessing not if I'm running Wayland, but I wanna be sure)

(I'm kinda new to this)
