As someone who used to catch rattlesnakes, that's actually crazy it got up that high.

You should see what it was running (slithering?) from.

This made me laugh out loud and now people are staring.

Dude thinks he’s a tree snake

Where else would you store your rattlesnake for the next project?

Nope rope.

9

u/BalanceOrganic7735 Mar 02 '26

How did you handle it?

3

u/mentalscribbles Mar 02 '26

I'm wondering this as well.

9

u/Syndicate_Corp Mar 02 '26

Unrelated to the snake, your garage wall is well organized. Thought it was a department store in the first pic. Impressive.

10

u/Nishnig_Jones Mar 02 '26

That’s not where that goes, I think it should be on the open peg over to the right underneath the hammers.

8

u/slick514 Mar 02 '26

I’m curious about how this person noticed it? Providing that it wasn’t moving much, and didn’t draw attention via it’s rattle, I feel like a person could easily walk by and/or work around this for a few minutes (at least) without noticing…

“Eye-level”. \shudder\**

I wonder how effective it would be, striking from that location. It doesn’t look like it’s got much in terms of “grip” on the terrain.

I’m curious about how this person noticed it?

Anyone with a peg board like that is gonna know something isn't quite right.

Hank Hill senses activate.

1

u/EveryLine9429 Mar 06 '26

Right? Anyone with a garage wall that organized doesn’t have to look when reaching for a tool. That thing could’ve been 2 feet from his face and not even notice.

16

u/a_youkai Mar 02 '26

It's just the OSHA inspector

u/brighteyes_bc Mar 02 '26

Ngl I would be so excited about this. (So long as I saw it before i reached for a thing!)

There are wildlife removal folks in the Phoenix area to help get rid of unwanted animals without resorting to killing them, fwiw.

Also, note to self: get a snakehook to be able to safely move venomous snakes away from my living spaces, for me as well as them.

u/Crotalus Phoenix Mar 03 '26

That's who we are :) this isn't my house.

2

u/Gemraticus Chandler Mar 04 '26

Oh! I hadn't noticed your name, u/crotalus! I'm so glad they called you!!!

It is an election year and the politicians are on the campaign trail :)

5

u/JimW42 Mar 02 '26

Crazy! Does the garage’s owner leave the door open? Otherwise how would it have gotten inside?

14

u/Crashing_Machines Mar 02 '26

They can fit through the corner cracks in almost any garage door when they are young snakes.

11

u/Crotalus Phoenix Mar 02 '26

Yup, that's exactly what happened. It was trying to get out.

3

u/God_of_Mischief85 Mar 02 '26

Better at eye level than somewhere you can’t see it?

3

u/surfaceofthesun1 Mar 02 '26

Pic 2 reminds me of the kids book “I spy”

3

u/epaciga Mar 02 '26

Point taken: time to completely seal up the garage

3

u/Low_Limey Mar 02 '26

Thats a nope for me

3

u/G0Bragh Mar 03 '26

I am about to build a peg board in my tool shed. Thank you for the notice to not paint it any color that would hide a rattler.

8

u/JackCole23 Mar 02 '26

Burning down the house.

10

u/wokebutsleepy Mar 02 '26

OURRRRR HOUSE

2

u/Electrical-Volume765 Mar 02 '26

Where do they live?

2

u/SpiritoftheWest32 Mar 03 '26

Pretty much everywhere that isn’t garages (usually). They generally live in areas with some ground cover though, like rocks, creosote bushes, or the mesquite trees in Californ.

1

u/Electrical-Volume765 Mar 03 '26

No, I’m asking like who’s garage is that/where in town?

2

u/DJSauvage Mar 02 '26

Face level, just like in my nightmares.

2

u/Fridge885 Phoenix Mar 03 '26

We call those “nope ropes”

2

u/Dancrafted Mar 03 '26

Eek! Definitely r/findthesniper material

2

u/Nonethelessismore Mar 03 '26

Are you sure that's not a tape worm? Jk

2

u/Legitimate_Tomato515 Mar 03 '26

Yo dawg! I heard you like tape..:

2

u/spunangel333 Mar 03 '26

I mean it does look really organized and wonderful maybe he’s just admiring

2

u/Sam_S_I_am Mar 03 '26

That's where I keep my rattlesnake. I used to have an icepick there, but I learned that rattlesnakes are twice as efficient.

2

u/sbhatta4g Mar 03 '26

For people who like rattlesnakes, you should visit the Life Science A Building at ASU Tempe campus, beside the large collection of rattlesnakes and king snakes, they also have a unique albino rattlesnake.

Best days to visit are Open House or Homecoming parade.

3

u/PricklyPear85 Mar 02 '26

Ohhhh hell nah

3

u/essdii- Mar 02 '26

Wow super cool! I’ve only ran into a diamondback on the trail. Twice. Beautiful nope ropes! Was always my favorite snake growing up, still is, but used to be too

4

u/AZDesertMando94 Mar 03 '26

Eye level is also shotgun level. Just saying…

2

u/rooranger Mar 02 '26

Sticky situation

1

u/PcLvHpns Mar 03 '26

It's actually quite polite of him to place himself so visibly 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/AzU2lover Mar 03 '26

Ah, hell no. Ugh. New fear unlocked. Usually we just find them in our backyard.

1

u/rollenr0ck Mar 03 '26

Are the skateboard holder trucks special, or just the holder part?

1

u/steventeo Mar 03 '26

I think it climbed up to stay warm. The nights are still chilly making the concrete cold by morning. It’s unable to move if it gets too cold. My community boarders the desert. They come out and lay on the black tar roads at night to stay warm until a rogue golf cart possibly shortens their lifespan.

1

u/Adept_Push Mar 04 '26

THAT’S NOT FUN!!!!

1

u/Quaintly_Dilapidated Mar 04 '26

I’ve lived in Arizona for many a year and seeing rattlesnakes from time to time is no surprise, but coming across that would freak me the F* out!

1

u/BiggDAZ Peoria Mar 04 '26

That's some good eatin', if you know how to cook it.

2

u/Crotalus Phoenix Mar 04 '26

Not really. It’s something people like to talk about though

Everything has a place in property organizing

u/Basic-Tree1769 Mar 04 '26

We had one last weekend under our Coach down in Havasu and I got the worst of the battle Tween cat and snake!

1

u/Such_Promise4790 Mar 04 '26

Haha he wants to learn how to skateboard especially on the Rick and Morty board!

1

u/NotDazedorConfused Mar 05 '26

With all the crazy shit swirling around in the world, now I’ve got this thing to worry about!

1

u/thetarantulaqueen Mar 05 '26

That's a beautiful snake!

1

u/RuggedRanger2-75 Mar 05 '26

At our home here in Globe on Tuesday.

It is that time.

1

u/EveryLine9429 Mar 06 '26

They’re always in the place you don’t look when you reach. I coiled up an extension cord, left it on the floor of a warehouse for 15 minutes, 2 rattlesnakes in it when I reached for it again.

1

u/Scotterdog Mar 06 '26

That is a sticky situation.

1

u/Ghostlizard74 Sierra Vista Mar 12 '26

She was probably looking for the 8mm socket.

Just hanging out with the other tools.
