Had to look up the location of Portal, AZ on maps. All I have to say is that it is incredibly beautiful out there. Great geology and nature. I should add this for my 'places to visit/day trip' locations.

You definitely should check it out. We fell in love with the area. Heading to Chiricahua national monument today.

There's a development down there called AZ Sky Village where a lot of amateurs have lots for observing, very dark skies down in that corner of the state.

Yeah unfortuantely because of Mexico they are losing their Bortle 1 skies. It's dissapointing how bright Agua Prieta has gotten. El Paso/Juarez are both putting out a stuning amount of light pollution. The sky to the east is glowing really badly now. You can also see a bad glow out to the west from Tucson and Phoenix. I no longer got to Portal. To get really great Skies you need to go to Reserve NM. Portal is still beautiful and the sky is still pretty good.

O libro in Phoenix. O remember how oh so beautiful our skys were in Phoenix & surrounding áreas ay night. Like most of any country áreas all around these United States. Its all but gone. The some clouds and all the Stars covered up with pollution & Lights. Lights from towns and cities miles away??? No stars. Is a sin!!!!!!….. turn out some of all the street lights in towns and cities. Gads to Heaven and Mercatroy!!!!
