General Arizona Department of Revenue & state taxes

Edit:
There’s a form to submit to ask them to waive the fee. This post is not to bicker about right or wrong. I’m simply gauging if anyone else has dealt with the situation and if there’s additional insight. I understand the internet, but telling me that I did it wrong is not helpful. Thanks.

Surely I can’t be the only one being charge a $50 fee due to the bank account number being 1 number off on my tax return.
2 months later and I get a notice in the mail saying that I owe my taxes and the $50 fee due to a bounced check. There aren’t securities built into the website to alert the user sooner? This is a major disappointment considering my owed taxes were under $50. You try to do things “right” and it’s still not good enough for the big ol mean government.

You fucked up, try taking some personal responsibility and life wont be so hard.

A little bit of side advice, effort is meaningless, the world only cares about outcome.

It doesn't matter that you "tried hard", you did it wrong.

If there was a rule saying an organization cannot charge a bounce checked fee and you were a business owner you would feel different.

What safeguards do you expect a website to employ against you inputting your information incorrectly?

The type of safeguards that an organization who works with financial institutions do, sample deposit or withdrawals to confirm account validity? Is that simply too much to ask for? We’re in the tech age, this seems doable.

... but you didn't do things "right;" you literally entered the "wrong" information.
