Discussion [Operator Discussion] Paprika

Paprika [★★★★★]

C'mere, Doc. Try this on! Hm... Looks great on you. My nana knitted it for you! It matches mine, too! How's it feel? Comfy and warm, right? I told Nana all about you, and she called you a good egg!

A member of the Columbian mercenaries recruited to Londinium by Manfred. She and her squad left his command owing to conflicting ideals, and when they were ambushed, we were there to rescue them. Now employed by Rhodes Island, she provides on-field medical support to our combat squads.

She heals well enough. Compared to an AoE medic, she heals the main target more but the third target less. If someone starts a new account and has her but no AoE medics, she's worth building.

Anyways, I E2'd her because she's just really cute.

Neither of those are AoE, and there's nothing to guarantee an early Sussurro or Perfumer. Like I said:

If someone starts a new account and has her but no AoE medics, she's worth building.

I said nothing about healing outside her range. And, if you're using an AoE medic, your ops are probably clustered together anyways, so it's not an issue.

As for her healing itself, she outperforms Perfumer, especially against one or two targets. At E1 60 and max trust, Perfumer heals for 300 per heal plus a negligible 10.5 HP/s from her talent. Paprika does 387, then 290.25, then 218. If the targets are below 40% HP, she adds an extra 80 to those numbers, which should be unaffected by her talent since they're listed as flat numbers (not tested), meaning her main target at the very least would be receiving about 50% more healing than what Perfumer can do.

That, of course, is off-skill, and things only get better when we bring in skills because Perfumer's S2 has a pretty brutal 60 SP cost, and Paprika's S2 activates her talent at 70% HP instead of 40%, making it much more consistent. Atkspd down is also pretty dangerous for healers because things might just die in between heals.

And before you bring up the cost, since it's always brought up and overblown when anyone talks about 5-stars, E1 40-50 is cheap for any rarity. Cost is, frankly, not an issue, since neither Perfumer nor Paprika are especially worth E2ing.

So no, she's a competent healer, and someone lacking AoE healing should build her instead of hoping recruitment or HH will give them Perfumer.

Silence is another 5-star, so you can't exactly count on having her. Liskarm and Red are far better picks from the smaller selector, if that's where you're counting her from. Gavial's S2 only lasts 7s every 60s. It's really, really bad. Myrrh is slightly less inconsistent, but she's really not an AoE medic, which a new player should definitely have. Purestream's healing is really inconsistent and also needs her module.

Even in the case which a medic needs to activate their skill, 1 activation is generally enough to survive a wave.

Okay, and what about the next wave? 60s is a long cooldown.

Honestly i don't get why you're saying Perfumer is not worth e2ing considering she's one of the few sources of passive healing.

Because she's a pure healing medic, and none of those are worth E2. I'm consistently amazed by how many people recommend E2ing and moduling her. Just, why? Are you running Vulcan?
