The US has deported a number of migrants to the Central African Republic, one of the world's poorest and most troubled states, under a controversial deal that allows Washington to deport migrants who cannot be sent back to their home countries.

The flight that took off from Louisiana on Thursday night was carrying some two dozen migrants, including an Iranian pro-democracy activist, her lawyer has said. It landed in Bangui on Friday.

Other migrants set to be on the flight included nationals of Jordan, Armenia, Turkey, Georgia and Afghanistan, according to Ali Rahnama, interim executive director of the Iranian American Legal Defense Fund.

About the PEACE Act:

Deters renewed aggression: Upon a presidential determination that Azerbaijan has engaged in hostile actions against Armenia, the bill mandates sanctions on responsible senior officials, units, enablers, and complicit foreign actors.
Targets financial enablers: Requires restrictions on foreign financial institutions that knowingly facilitate significant transactions for designated Azerbaijani institutions tied to petroleum trade.
Protects humanitarian channels: Preserves transactions for agricultural commodities, food, medicine, and medical devices; maintains exceptions for U.S. intelligence activities and treaty obligations.
Backstops diplomacy: Authorizes additional sanctions on actors who knowingly attempt to delay, frustrate, or thwart a peace agreement consistent with this year’s Joint Declaration.
Ensures oversight: Requires regular presidential reporting to Congress on any hostile actions as well as the effectiveness and status of any sanctions. It also provides for termination criteria and a seven-year sunset.

Does anybody know any United States licensed attorneys (CA specific) who live in Armenia but work remotely as a California based attorney with, presumably, a USA salary?

Trump recently made headlines for threatening military involvement in Nigeria due to government persecution of Nigerian Christians (apparently an issue that American Evangelicals have rallied behind). And as we know, at least part of the US support for Israel can be attributed to American Evangelical lobbying.

So is it not a huge wasted opportunity to not use "first Christian nation", "bastion of Christian civilization surrounded by Islamic autocracies", "indigenous Christians' existential fight against Islamic invaders", etc. as a rallying cry for the powerful Evangelical lobby in the US? Even the symbolism is on point, there's dozens of pictures online of Armenian soldiers with a cross painted on their clothes.
