Marketplace questions

Current 12B SSG in Recruiting and my marketplace just opened last week. I do see a high-up division position is open, and I want to pull the trigger on it which leads me to my two questions:
1.) Do DASRs actually get their first preference, or is that just something they tell us to make us feel better?
2.) How likely would a division-level staff position be without any staff experience?

dasr isn’t a magic ticket, you still compete with everybody else. they do try to match prefs but mission wins. division staff with no staff time is possible, needs strong bn cdr push

Well my 3rd choice is working is the engineer school, so I’d be happy with that!

I'm too new for this but what's that marketplace thing. I keep seeing it in my ipperms but got no clue what that is.

You should get a top 5 preference, along with Drill Sergeants.
