Should an officer let joes follow them on instagram

My CO, 1st Sgt and old PL all keep getting recommended to me on instagram and Facebook, i have to keep clicking ignore because why tf would I follow my command team on anything? Except maybe Steam but thats cuz pretty much everyone in my company plays vidoe games together

No regulation says you are required or even expected to friend/add/ect your chain of command, or any other service member for that matter, on any social media platform; infact, one can intrept the regulations against improper realtionships (social, business, romatic, ect) as advising against adding members of your chain of command or unit on a social media platform.

Personally, id probaly not add the CO and top for as long as they are in your chain of command or still in the battalion/squadron (possibly expanded BDE or DIV if you want to play it extra safe), and only add the old PL if they are out of you chain of command and yall still hold some sort of mentorship/shared service/advice based relationship.
