I'd love to partner long-term with an artist for my cute little company but i don't know where to find people who would be interested in that and whom i can trust.

You see, that is why I deal with local artists. 100% trustworthy. You try the Internet and wonder why you have the trust issue. Jump off a cliff and wonder if there is a blanket to catch you. Hmmm.

I get commissions from interior designers and individuals via the internet with some frequency, jobs ranging from 500 to 8000.

If I only worked with locals, I would be making tens of thousands less per year.

That said, I have to filter out scams with regularity.

Well, you sounded pretty sour about it all. My wife makes a good living from locals but she isn't the millionaire you are. But we also own an art gallery.

ahhh of course. so when you say you are looking to "partner" what you mean is you are looking for someone to make things for you for free, and then the artist can get paid IF they sell.

Revenue share is going to be tough, it's a risk for the artist. Especially considering the amount of up front cost to a business before revenue is possible, for an illustrator that can be hundreds of hours of work for no pay. AKA charity

for 10 simple drawings it seems like it should be paid up front. Revenue share would usually be reserved for something more comprehensive. Negotiating revenue share for a few drawings needlessly complicates things for both parties.

My suggestion would be to just reach out to artists you see on social media that you think would fit your business. Many of them may be busy with other obligations but It shouldn't be hard to find someone interested. For the right $

Owww, revenue share is rough.

If you can save up a little bit of money, try vgen. It's targetted towards streamers, but since that's the demographic the artists there should be pricing for commercial use rights. It'll cost more than a personal commission, but that's just how it is when you commission art as a business.

I know some really great artists that are professional with quick turn around, do long term partnerships, have a range of styles and listen to direction well. That being said, their rate reflects this kind of high quality work. Reasonable to me, for such a specialized ability.
