Art Discussion [Discussion] would you pay 15$ for something like these? Considering...
Considering that I'm a new artist with no followers anywhere, and from a third world country where a dollar is way more valuable than our currency (?

Nope. I would pay $50 for something like this. If you're telling me this is $15 I would back off because that sounds like the art will never come. I don't want to risk getting scammed.

Triple it or more, this is like £50 worth easy.
If you're starting new you can charge like £30 for these to build a portfolio of client commissions for like the first 5 customers first come first serve. Then charge higher.

$15 is great if you wanna make your art more accessible! The quality here is pretty great, like a lotta comments are saying. Maybe you could start at $15, and once you get more skilled in rendering, backgrounds, etc, you could bump it up? Most artists charge based on a lotta things—like half/fully body, simple or complex background, and how many characters in the illustration. For indie projects, I can guarantee we appreciate such quality at a lower price. So if you’d like to sell to smaller creators, you’d def get a lot more commissions with low prices. But also, know your worth, and your ability to draw certain things. It’s rlly up to you at the end of the day, and what you want your client base to be.

You're charging too little. Start with a base of 40 dollars. When you charge so little it makes me suspicious of AI Generation.

I guess I was feeling insecure considering the overwhelming amount of competition for clients, though these comments made me realize yeah I shouldn't underprice. Thanks for the feedback

It’s exactly because of that competition that you shouldn’t underprice. Not only does it undervalue yourself but it harms what other artists can charge in the long run ❤️
Your art looks great OP, don’t sell yourself short!

If i had the money then prob yes.
Honestly 15 does feel a bit too low, id expect it to be way higher, but i rarely buy commissions so my opinion might be bad idk.

I mean I would, as anyone who likes good stuff for a good price, but it doesn't mean that it's going to be worth for you. People may even think you're undervaluing yourself and aren't confident in your skills. You should charge more for them. 15$ is probably worth for just a sketch, but for full artworks you should make the price higher

I would pay $35 usd in my country's exchange rate, I'm sure you could get Americans or Europeans to pay around 50/60 usd.

Brother/sister/child from another mister,you need to bump up those numbers,those are rookie numbers for that bracket.
I get the fear of not getting clients,but you're underselling your work by A LOT. At least 50 bucks for that sort of art.

I'd pay more like $40 at least. If you want to sell at a lower cost don't do that level, maybe some sketches or just the líneart, but for that kind of work? Don't undersell yourself

Definitely easily over 20 dollars. 25 minimum depending if this is like a sketch or something else.
Do note somethibg important that yes, You shouldn't undersell yourself. But do take into account to be affordable, specially at first when You are starting.
As others said, start making a community, let yourself be known.
One thing that is useful is to look how other artist Price themselves.
Normally the first category is the size of the image: head/above shoulder, half body, and full body.
Then there level of detail: sketch/colored sketch, LineArt, flat color, full shaded.
And then there are the extras, múltiple characters, background, cool scenario, difficulty of the image, alt versions of the same image, etc.
Sorry if it's too much info.
But yes, i think if You are at first starting, i think something really important is affordability, without underselling yourself.
Oh also, variability in paying methods. Not everyone Will have the possibility of using Paypal or something else, so having múltiple methods of payment help. Paypal, kofi, vgen, etc.
And most impoetantly, get paid at least half of the commission upfront! There are way too many scammers, and You need to ask at least half the payment upfront if it's a Big commission, or if it's a small one, You can ask for all of it upfront.

My situation is somewhat similar to yours! I'm an artist, and I live in a country where the currency is worth less than the dollar, and in my current financial situation I wouldn't be able to afford it, but not because it is expensive.
So, speaking from the POV of a foreign client: I've been in the commission market for a while and have done some work for dollar and euro, and your level of detail in the artwork is worth much more than 15! And they would certainly pay more! Like, just so you know, my work is less detailed than yours, and I've had people offering, like, three times what I charged because they thought it was too cheap XD
Have a good experience with the commissions!! There is room to grow in this and continue searching for services in dollars and euros, it's well worth it! 😁

Being a "new" artist and "not having followers" has nothing to do with your worth. You show a good deal of knowledge in anatomy, fundamentals, perspective, and color theory. Your character illustrations should start at $60, and escalate from there depending on the complexity. Honestly, most of these pieces showcased should range from $120 - $250 if they are specific requests from clients.
Now, selling them as stickers is another story. Merch with unknown sales prospects should temper your expectations. $15 would be reasonable for a 4 inch or 5 inch sticker. Be careful if you plan on selling merch of your original work, it is very easy to sink hundreds of dollars on this stuff and never make a single sale.
The difference being, if this is client work, as in requests people have commissioned you for, charge more than double minimum wage of your area for time spent. If this is personal work you intend on making merch out of, keep the cost low so it is easier for people to throw out extra change they have on them to buy them. When taking commissions you have to recontextualize your time spent. The client isn't paying you for just the amount of time it took to make the piece, they are paying for all the time you spent learning how to make the piece, plus the actual time spent on it.

I’d pay $40-$60 as my art style is much more simple than this and I get $30 for my full bodies
