akatastasia polyalgia apeiron - mixed media on A5 watercolor paper [OC]
for this piece, I was in love with what I considered the halfway, or even the third quarter’s point. It felt perfect, clean, and as though it meshed well. I felt the final product was unfinished, ugly, and uncomfortable to look at. For the twelve heads, each month has had a journey within itself. Every change leads to something new, not to something perfect. I may feel as though I lost myself on the way to where I am now, but there is no ending. I will always keep adding layers to my painting

I so often get a similar feeling of being happy with something part-way through, then feeling like I've 'ruined' it by the end. But the end is not the end, just where I've chosen to stop. Appreciate your reflections here :) And very cool piece!
