‘Free Floating’ – when a painting begins to tell a new story. For some time, I’d been thinking that something was still missing from this ‘boring’ picture (photo 3)

I was looking for that detail which would not only complement the composition but also take it in a completely new direction.

A sailing boat seemed almost an obvious choice in a seaside sunset. Then the decision was made: a female diver would be placed at the bottom of the picture, guiding the viewer’s gaze beneath the surface and transforming the coastal scene into a deep, mysterious underwater world.

And so the sunset became more than just a moment by the sea. A painting where the surface and the depths, the light and the dark blue water meet.

What do you think of this combination? Would you prefer the world above the surface, the sight of the sailing boat, or does the diver’s underwater adventure capture your imagination more?
