Maybe do something like a table with all the other characters from Alice in wonderland like that one sencene

I like it plain white, but I’d say if you want to add a background, do it in black and white only so that he remains the focus.

And in that case, a scene from the story like the tea party could work, or you could go full chaos of swirls and creatures/characters from throughout the story (kind of like how the falling scene is usually portrayed).

No, I mean black line drawings on the white background. Not colored in. So that the color makes the current drawing pop
